Re: Yellow Rat

Rise on the LVC Bedford chino is great, proper tummy ticklers. Likewise my 60s sta prest rocked up and have a great 12" rise too.

Re: Yellow Rat

surely a bigger guy such as myself (although I'm only a 33/34 waist) would need a slightly higher rise though? Bop, what about you? I'm probably gonna go for a pair soon to support his operation, but does he charge extra to shorten the legs, I also take it I would have to retaper them once I shortened them up to my desired 28"

Re: Yellow Rat

He doesn't do any alterations and suggested a wear and wash first even though they're pre-shrunk, though I'm just taking them straight to my tailor as I doubt they'd lose any length.

Re: Yellow Rat

Exactly. The LVC bedfords are hemmed short without much flexibility. These are surely meant to be finished at a tailor/alterationist.

Re: Yellow Rat

Did you buy a pair of LVC bedfords Oli, all mine have need a cutting down a touch - I thought you being a similar build to me would be a similar leg length. Look forward to seeing how these come out.

Re: Yellow Rat

I think I was one of the first on the forum to grab the bedfords when they first came out Tom. Did they ever do a 32/30 because I renember them being shipped already hemmed pretty short but it worked perfectly nonetheless? If you're happy with the cut of the original LVCs you'll like these even more.

Re: Yellow Rat

The chino or 5 pockets?

My chino are a 31/32 - the 30 waist get too tight on the leg.

Re: Yellow Rat

Never seen 30 leg tbh, you're right, the leg on the 5 pockets are too tight at the top, shame - had mine on yesterday.

Re: Yellow Rat

I actually emailed the guy over a week ago and I've had no response which is annoying since I've been keen to champion the brand,  still think this is a better alternative to LVC.

Re: Yellow Rat

Tommy, dig up the number on Google as I did and get on the horn - he's in San Diego and will call you back pretty quickly if you leave a message.

I just got my 33's in the mail the other day but haven't had a chance to open them up yet so I'll do a comparison soon and post the results.

Re: Yellow Rat

I've got a few bit's of Yellow Rat, it's really good stuff.
I particularly like their 'convertible collar' short sleeve shirts and the cords based on vintage 501's.

Took a while to get hold of the guy to make an order tho', but it's worth persisting.

Re: Yellow Rat

I'm not going to be able to buy the bedfords for a couple of months,  but I'd rather support this guy over LVC. Did you get stung by customs?

^ I bought them via a proxy, so dodged customs.

Re: Yellow Rat

I'd be glad to proxy 'em if anyone needs a hand. I might actually be down in San Diego in May for a Crawdaddys show in which case, I'm going to try and meet the guy in person.
