Re: The Jeremy Corbyn sartorial thread

Good god man, he's one of those finanical advisors who are constantly badgering me to transfer my non-existent English pension scheme into some dodgy jute farm in Peru or invest in the latest impossibly high rate and guaranteed returns if only I will transfer everything and keep the missus and the kids locked out in this incredibly risk free off-shored ponzi scheme!

But which one is Beestonplace, the cheecky chirpy footie fan from the North whose just out of the sixth-form, or the ever so serious Home Counties chappy with the posh accent?

I'm with Woof, we've all paid in and I don't think its fair that people who had the foresight to take a private pension on top (or for that matter not wasted their money on clothes) should be denied the same entitlement. It'd be like means testing child allowance.

Re: The Jeremy Corbyn sartorial thread

You seem to have got very tech savvy for someone who allegedly didn't know how to upload a photo of his watch a couple of months ago? I had read that the tories spent £100K a month on facebook during the election - seems they've got their lackies posting childish anti Corbyn propaganda on here now ....

Re: The Jeremy Corbyn sartorial thread

I'm no one's lacky, I just feel sad for all these sad young men betting on a loser at the starting gate.

Edit: And I just read now, Corbyn has appointed the evil fire-starter, twisted fire-starter, Mike Watson as Education Spokesman. What delusional mind could promote such a cretin and convicted arsonist to spokesman for Education. Surely, this is some jest, some Tory trick?

No, it's not, Corbyn's Labour did that all by themselves. How grown up the hard Left has become.

How can they mount an effective opposition to the Tories education policies with an absolute clown like that?

They're having a laugh, not at me, but everyone who's wasted effort in supporting them. They're taking the absolute piss out of their supporters. This is the best they can offer?!

Another edit: He's also got his snout well in the trough - a prolific expenses claimer - in 2012 he cost £10,000 for every time he had spoken in the House of Lords. He claimed £48,000 in expenses, I guess he gave a deduction of two grand for his last speech.

A convicted arsonist who is Scottish as spokesman for Education which is devolved from Scotland. He's also unelected.

You couldn't make it up!

Re: The Jeremy Corbyn sartorial thread

For those whose entire world view appears to be through the prism of right wing hate rag, The Daily Mail, the world must now appear to be a really frightening place.  I know absolutely nothing of Mike Watson, however, I suspect Corbyn appointed him more for his politcal views than his pyrotechnics skills. As for expenses excess, whilst I personally find it reprehensible, if we emptied the commons of all those with their 'snouts firmly in the trough' - there would be hardly anyone left .... on reflection, it would a be great idea.

I'm not entirely sure who the 'sad young men' you are referring to ? I'm neither sad nor young and didn't vote for Corbyn, as my political affiliations would have rendered me exempt. However, even you must concede that his campaign and subsequent election have caused a tsunami of interest in British politics - particularly those disenfanchised by the identikit polticos of the last twenty or so years. Corbyns victory has shown that the anti austerity message does resonate with a lot of people, sick to death of a society run by and for the benefit of a money grubbing elite. Perhaps living abroad has insulated you from the reality of working class life in Britain - temp agencies, zero hours contracts and the 'if you don't like it - fuck off' employment culture - propped up by laws introduced by your friendly neighbourhood tories. The fact that the Daily Mail et al are postiively foaming at the mouth with faux outrage at anything Corbyn does, suggests to me that they know the gig is up - I particularly liked their hilarious 'loony left rating' .... you couldn't make that shite up - oh sorry, the mail did.

As the saying goes - you can fool some of the people all of the time etc - and it's not just us loony lefties saying it .....

Re: The Jeremy Corbyn sartorial thread

Question for our British friends. There is a lot of gnashing of teeth over "zero hours contracts". Is everyone in the whole country employed on a contract? That seems silly.
