Re: New Shoes

^ nice, Dexters are a solid buy.
I've got a pair of NOS rubber sole pennys from t'bay that have lasted years without needing re-soleing
(they still look barely worn and I've hammered them as they are my only' wet-weather' loafers).

Re: New Shoes

I think Grey suede is fine - grey leather is a no-no for me.
Those ones in the pic are ok in my book.
They look like they'd work with the right outfit.

Re: New Shoes

After wearing mine for a few weeks I can report that I am a very happy camper. Great with jeans and navy cords.

Saw these on ebay recently, Suede uppers and a crepes sole…Very nice.

Re: New Shoes

I think the logo is only on the tag and on the inner sole I think

I don't think it's visible if you don't keep the tag (I always chuck that away)

If you can get hold of Joanne Olian's 'Everyday Fashions of the Fifties as Pictured in Sears Catalogs' you will find (in the 1959 catalogue) bucks and desert boots in new 'London Gray'.

Re: New Shoes

I saw a pair of those grey 6876 Clarks dessies in Oi Polloi today  - Looked nice
I think that colour is great
Having said that I tried on a pair of Astorflex and I think I've turned desert boot wise - they felt different - more substantial- the suede felt like it might have been harvested from the tender regions of some mythical creature.
They're handmade in Italy by tiny Italian shoe elves with small hammers and needles.
That's got to be worth something too
