Indeed, well done Walker and good work stan posting it here... I'd love to see outfit pics spread around the threads if they're relevant...
Thanks Stan & Berkeley. im really digging this look at present, would love to find some old photos of the Grateful Dead Northeastern
campus->concert gear circa early 1978.
what would they be wearing bottom half? i was wearing early 70s redline levis, LL Bean camp mocs & wigwams.
Just sent this to walker - but may as well make my adulation public I guess!
'I like those 60/40 + Shetland looks you are posting of late. I picked up a new green Sierra Designs one a few years ago when they released a few discounted ones onto the US market, but most of the time all their output goes to the Japan who can't get enough of them. But they come up on eBay all the time, cheap as chips. I got an orange Sierra one last year and a blue LL Bean one with a blanket lining ... nice. I tried on a Houlobar orange 60/40 in a shop in Richmond a couple of weeks ago, it was great but ... £400+ for a thin anorak ... I don't think so! Even the salesman whipping out his phone and showing me a pic of Robert De Niro wearing one in The Deer Hunter was not enough to make me get my wallet out.
But yeh, 60/40 addiction is real alright.'

^Occasionally I hear something that gets close in the "Americana" genre, but it usually seems forced, like the accompanying lumberjack beards and slim-fit Filson shirts.
The Dead and the Band synthesized different strains of music in a way I don't think anyone will ever match.
