Those trousers are really high, only the 1949 suit trousers are even higher. If you go to 13" the back rise should be lower. But then they slip down. Better to go high in the back... I am a true 32" waist and about 12/16.5 is on my natural waist without slipping down...
Again. It is only my two cents, I don't even know if I want another trouser - but it should fit well, right? The back rise is the problem of most modern trousers, they are all too low there... Even if the front rise is about 12"...
I'm sorry, I should have been more precise in the description of the Buzz Rickson chinos.
a better description of them is below.
Their 1942 us army khaki chino trouser is an accurate repro of the WW2 spec Naval issue trousers ( a whopping front and back rise and a very full leg).
Their 'original spec' chino is a slightly stylised cut based on the Korean War issue ( a good front rise - but a square 'top block' - hence a relatively low back rise with a slightly tapered leg)
^Nah, my bad. I haven't tried the 1942 khakis.
Hey Woolster here's a link to the Ricksons with measurements unfortunately no 'back rise' measurements (my 33w are 16.5").

Be aware these are in no way a tapered collegiate style, they are the full blooded military dress trousers of yore.
They look great with a thick belt, some saddle shoes and topped off with a loop collar short sleeve.
Thanks Acton, they do look good. I have a pair of vintage Korean era khakis (manufactured by Russell Southern) and a pair Vietnam era pants, which are a bit slimmer but still rather wide. Ideally, I would like the Worried Man Kakkis to be similar in construction and the materials used, but with an Ivy silhoutte, if that makes sense. I'm guessing others are after something dressier, and I'm ok with that too, as long as they are, well -- natural shoulder trousers.
Good looking chinos, AC. And considering what money some are looking for, very reasonable in price for UK made selvedge.
Is the model bow-legged? Or is that the cut of the trews?
190 quid for chinos? Even importing O'Connell's is cheaper.
Those stupid fat rolls on the legs on every shot really bug me.
These ones @ £149, I thought AC intended-

^ thanks CB, that's the strides (they don't look right on me with my short stumpy legs, but might work on a rangier fellow ).
You're right about the model , he's got some serious bow leg action going on.
