Jim..you were hung out to dry I wouldnt even bother.
The more formal English shoes were, I'm sure, ubiquitous amongst suit wearers.
The M-65 made it's way into fashion (and via fashion it got into the late Ivy Look) due to veterans joining the anti war movement. Then the hippies, then more and in the end everyone, a German TV cop called 'Schimanski' included... He was then responsible for making this 'NATO-jacket' fashionable here in middle Europe...

And we know that gear from the surplus store and sporting goods store especially back then was less expensive than nice coats and clothing from the better men"s shops
It"s just good old ivy ocbds, khakis, cords, and sweaters with parkas, cruisers, mocs and boots, and some Clark's, instead of sack sport coats, topcoats, penny loafers ....
A beautiful hybrid style ... Woolrich, and Bean style in the East anyway
Despite my insistence that there's more to Ivy than the campus, I'm head to toe in campus classics today in the office & very comfortable.
'Appy noo year.
Repeating the "bleeding" obvious over and over seems to give you comfort, Jim.
I am glad that our age gap means we we won't share the same dementia ward.
Inculcation is, I think, the term for this - education by repetition.
You are inculcating your audience? Sorry, I misunderstood. Go ahead… Enjoy. Have fun!
