One outfit for the rest of your life...

Ok, so this isn't exactly a deep philosophical ivy style question here, but I was going through my wardrobe I separated out the stuff I know I'll never get rid of, just to sort through the stuff I love. It got me thinking if I had one outfit that I could wear for the rest of my life, what would it be? I decided not to take occasions into account. So I chose what I'd be most comfortable and confident in, rather than whether it would be appropriate for work, weddings or funerals. Those clothes will also last and not wear out at all, so don't worry about longevity. Weather has no place in the decision as in this scenario you'll always be comfortable, regardless of temperature. And it has to come out of your current closet. What can I say? I like hypotheticals.

Here's mine. I'd love to hear yours.

- Press pink vintage OCBD
- Press Robert Noble olive gamekeeper tweed 3/2 sack
- Press navy and red medallion tie
- Bean camel vintage cardigan with leather buttons
- B.B. navy chinos (I need to up my pants game, quickly)
- Weejuns

I'll be living my one-outfit days during autumn in western Connecticut, apparently.

I have one Makers shirt and that's about the only ivy related item I own. I have to get back at you when I find a pair of pants and a jacket.

In all seriousness though...

No name khaki harrington jacket
6 button navy Brooksflannel
LVC Bedford Chino
Rancourt Chukkas

Or just some cord shorts and my trusty Gant batiste oxford popover. Probably that.

Just in terms of versatility, durability and comfort, it would be:

Herringbone sack
Makers OCBD
LVC Bedfords
Beefrolls

Re: One outfit for the rest of your life...

keeping my options open, but veering towards smart or 'business casual'...

h.i.s. '4 piece' in navy blue flannel (reversable waistcoat alternate 'side' in blue/grey herringbone and second pants in light grey),
Blue OCBD ( Makers 6 button ideally or O'Connells new unlined one),
Navy silk knit tie,
Florsheim Yuma in pebble grain with matching belt.
Corgi cashmere/silk socks ( a recent discovery, and I may bankrupt myself to get more pairs).

British Khaki Chinos
Blue OCBD (or blue univ stripe)
Navy Blazer
Tie - 1st Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders
Penny Loafers

I think that many of you are going to be suffering throughout the summer in your tweed herringbone jackets smile

Weather be not a factor, Ox! Still, I love your choices. Any specific blazer from your closet that you'd choose?
