Its not that bad to play, better than a Rickie 360 which is bloody awful.

Re: The Rolling Rocks

I dig Keef's clear Gibson (?) in Gimme Shelter.

I play acoustic guitar myself, own a 1994 version of Taylor's 710 six-string. There are times I wish I played/own electric. So many cool bodies.

Re: The Rolling Rocks

Yah, he didn't do a bad job with My Own Album and Now Look. I play Now Look now and then, especially in the summer--takes me back to the summer of '75. I think it's the stronger record, but the first one has its charms.

In my fantasy world, the Stones would have stolen these albums from Woody and made them their own, with Mick Taylor on lead. I especially think of Now Look as a Stones album that could/should have been.

Fact, now I might have to pull these out this evening. I have a replacement Shure stylus due for my mailbox this afternoon. These may be the first to see the new needle tip.

/\ I love Now Look too, C., and agree that it's a bit better LP but I also spin IGMOATD sometimes ...... it does have Feel the Fire, Am I Grooving You, and Take a Look at the Guy ......

Re: The Rolling Rocks

I wish the Rocks would either become interesting again or just retire, for crying out loud.

Re: The Rolling Rocks

/\  as Jonathan Cott wrote in Rolling Stone years ago, when they got old they should have transitioned to playing beautiful smaller halls and theaters, wearing dark suits, sitting on chairs in a semi-circle on stage, singing the blues they started out with  ... I Can't Be Satisfied, Little Red Rooster, Stop Breakin' Down ....... I hate seeing them as a parody of their former selves still dressed in glittery robes and ridiculous dyed hair ......

Re: The Rolling Rocks

Anyone heard anything from the upcoming Stones release Blue and Lonesome? Maybe 30 or even 20 years ago I'd be all over something like this. Now, meh--not sure it does anything for me.

This, right after I posted about wanting them to become interesting again. I think it's the right thing for them to do, settle down into some solid blues playing. I'm just not sure I find it interesting anymore.
