This seems an appropriate choice.

Re: Vinyl Spins

More non-vinyl, i.e., "live" music adventure coming up for C and Mrs. C: Thievery Corporation in DC in December. We're taking the train from Baltimore to downtown DC, doing some dining out, seeing the show at the 930 club, and staying in a posh retro hotel in the Dupont Circle area.

Do we know how to have a good time or what.

Re: Vinyl Spins

^ Cool. Zuma, I presume? I've never seen a tan cover.

Here's one example of why I don't like Record Store Day and that kind of thing. I see nothing on this list that fires my imagination: http://download.recordstoreday.com/lists/2016_BLACK_FRIDAY_PUBLIC.pdf

I see. I'm gonna need to check my copy. I don't think I have that inner sleeve.

Last Poet, got a dubious conviction for felony larceny, served 3yrs then qualified for study-release allowing him to do an undergrad diploma at Shaw University while still incarcerated.
The documentary about him and the other Last Poets still might be on the BBC iPlayer in the 'collections' section.

Re: Vinyl Spins

I haven't. I haven't even seen Stop Making Sense, actually, as it came out as I was coming out of my Heads phase. I adore the first four Heads LPs, and yeah, More Songs... is genius, in my opinion. I'd probably give it the nod as my favorite, although I really love the debut as well.

Re: Vinyl Spins

/\  I know ... Eno phase or bust ..... still you should see Stop Making Sense and then see Documentary Now, a good send-up ....

that tight, menacing, hypnotic, ticking sound of More Songs About Buildings and Food .... Found A Job, Warning Sign, Stay Hungry .... intense record ... driven, tweaked .....
