Is anyone here working as a clown?

http://turnbullandasser.eu/sale-eu/sale-shirts

If so, here is some workwear at dramatically reduced prices.

LOL! There's a few good ones on there, if ye seek and ye shall find. I would have liked that tonal grey one with the white collar, if they had it my size.

I plumbed for the sea island in the navy and white check. The sea island ones are conservative enough.

I liked some of those too. Beest has a very frightened approach to mens clothing and seems the feel the need to attack everything but the choices that reinforce his narrow minded fetish for control.

FNB as always confusing cause and effect. Wearing clown shirts doesn't make you open minded or educated.

But, please, give it a try.
I am mostly wearing blue suits and hermes ties. Which of these shirts would suit me? Enlighten me?

In 16.5, all the "sale" shirts dont suit my style. But, as I have written in another thread (for free, FNB take note), items "on sale" are "on sale" for a reason. The really good stuff never gets discounted.

Re: Is anyone here working as a clown?

I swooped in like the bald headed eagle I am on another two sales shirts: the lilac striped Sea Island one and another lilac checked one. I'll have no problems with these as part of my business and day-to-day shirt rotations.

The art of the getting a classic T&A at sales prices, is to go for the more conservative and fine checks and stripes. Then you are on a winner and have avoided whimsy and teh vagaries of fashion.

Oh, I have many of the bolder and more daring ones too, no problem there. But you need to space their use a bit more than you would a more conservative shirt, or do you? I am pretty much in T&A all the time now and I do notice I am down to a core team of about 20 shirts I favour and then interject with the more dandyish depending on mood.

A good point, Hepcat.

Also, if someones taste has become numb, only strong patterns and colours are able to break through that persons shell.

I have 3 H&K shirts in ever so slightly different shades of light blue. A joy.

Re: Is anyone here working as a clown?

^It's funny how a theme develops, a certain style, a way of doing things....reassuring to the onlooker that this person has their proverbial together.

I do like subtle differences, my wife goes crazy, but not everyone can notice the difference, the nuance and change that is a totally different vibe to the initiated.

My latest T&A shirts arrived today, yes, similar to that which has gone before, but a development and journey into getting there.

A way of being in middle age.

The triangle ones that creat a 3-D impression? Yes, they are going to date as a vulgar fashion item for sure.

And many items at T&A look like cheap tat from a souvenier shop, especially anything London-themed.

The London themed stuff looks decidedly for the tourists, or would city boys wear it? Those ties with the tiger jumping Tower Bridge, or that self proclaimed "Storm in a teacup tie".

So, there are in my size. Yes, all quite unusual checks. But I am missing the "typical" T&A eccentric patterns. PoW with bold over-check/stripe. These ones here just look like any "modern" random shirts from a "designer brand".

T&A also seem to have dropped their online customizing offer? H&H still have it,

That's because it is the end of the sale, what you are looking at are the great unloved.

That's my size too and there was 41 shirts in that size at the beginning of the sales. Just saying.

Got some great looking knitwear. Would love to be able to try some things on and get some stuff.

I am counting down the months and getting ready for when the knitwear hits aussie shelves again, got some nice ambitions this year.

Re: Is anyone here working as a clown?

Aye, there's some seriously splendid and expensive knitwear going on there, Shooey.

At the other end of the price scale, relatively, I've just purchased one of these for when the weather picks-up:
http://www.brooksbrothers.com/Supima%C2%AE-Cotton-V-Neck-Sweater/MS00773,nl_NL,pd.html?dwvar_MS00773_Color=BRBL&contentpos=3&cgid=0224

Wools are fine here from November through to the start of March, but they get too hot once the temperature starts picking-up.

Re: Is anyone here working as a clown?

Got a really nice Turnbull & Asser bengal stripe shirt today. It's got that classic T&A collar. I've never owned the brand before but l will say it is a total hoot. It's a real power shirt that makes a strong statement, so no wonder the rulers of the world love wearing them. Also got a beautiful bengal stripe Isaia, real typical Italian sartorial elegance as opposed to the hardcore power shirt from T&A.
