Hi everyone,
on everything I look to buy in USA now the level of postage and taxes is insane to ship to the UK.
For a linen summer sport coat the standard postage alone is $70 before I add on everything else.

Its awful at the moment.
Is this e bay ?
God damn they are all fleecing us now.
I believe USA regulated postage costs outside USA have been rising hugely. I guess it won't impact most people in USA so is a fairly hidden cost domestically.
Believe it or not. I meant with a degree of concern. I'm horrified by the cost of shipment, the possible addition of customs, etc. It's almost as though the amount of schemes available to mail off a package (quickly and inexpensively) is drying up.
Morning all, rather than start a new thread, thought I would use this to try resolve my issue.
Won a jacket on eBay (YAY!) but then got a message off the seller saying they don't post to UK! This, after I message and asked, but never heard back, the listing just said ask for a quote.
So... Any of my fellow Ivy Brethren based in NY state able to accept and forward this to me? The seller is based near Niagara Falls.
Cheers T.

On a related note, I have shipped maybe 10 clothing items to the UK in the last several years and as far as I know writing "used pants" with a value of $10 on the customs form works nicely. Nobody has relayed a tale of woe and/or misery, anyway.

Cheers BB, will see if anyone a little more local replies or will take you up on the kind offer sir.
Thanks for the replies, friend in Brooklyn came back to me and said they were happy to forward it in the new year.
Great news Tom, glad it worked out! What's the jacket?
