Knocked down from £55 to £45. Simply 'watch' something on Ebay and the discount offers come pouring in.
We're hoping to buy more Scandinavian art glass on this basis.
If you've got tender tootsies, Astorflex are a good investment.

His Huttons were made in the Astorflex factory in Verona! Unlined, very lightweight, natural crepe.

I have 2 pairs of Weejuns Hutton's very nice too, but I really like the Astorflex. Got my mate into them, we were in St Ives a few years back and he bought a couple of pairs from Academy & Co. They look really good now slightly beaten up.

I picked up a pair of their desert boots last evening for £30. NWB. I was surprised, for such a great name in footwear, that I faced no competition. Ebay strikes again.

I was somewhat non-plussed. This was at the now defunct 'Hip Store' in Nottingham. The discount just about made up for being called 'dude' (or 'dood') several times by the ill-shaven young assistant. But what should I have expected? Some old boy with his tape measure round his neck?

The £30 boots (NWB) just arrived in the post.
I'm indebted to AUS for drawing my attention to the make in the first instance, and to TRS for talking them up.
Also to The Weejun and John Rushton.
For any chap who is concerned about his feet, these are the shoes and boots to consider, especially if Ebay bargains are to be had.

Went into a Clarks shoe shop on Sunday for the first time in ages, couldn't believe how bad their Desert boots and Wallabees are.

Has the quality of the Clarks desert boot gone down? I haven't bought a pair for a year or so but the quality was good . Are they still made on Vietnam ?

I thought their Wallabees were pretty bad twelve to fourteen years ago. Some of their desert boots actually look quite nice but I think the construction is on the flimsy side. I saw a pair in Nottingham I liked colourwise - but not in my size. Didn't I read somewhere recently that they'd started production in Portugal? Astorflex will be my choice from now on, especially if I can carry on picking up Ebay bargains - £45 and £30 respectively.

The only Clarks I have now are some USA imported blue boot wallabies with crepe soles from ebay that were good. Seemed to be NOS and all gone now. Never found them again. Not sure if actually Clarks or just the name licenced as they seem different to anything I have seen by them in UK.

@Robbie, ref: the Clarks Desert Boots. The construction of the upper didn't appear to bad, but the crepe sole and 'scuse the pun looked crap.

I wore the Astorlex desert boots for the first time yesterday, walking around a mile or so in them without any discomfort whatsoever.
