Rotation vs Always There

Do you curate a seasonal or mood-related sub-set of your clothing collection, or do you have everything ready (ironed, unwrapped, polished etc) at hand?

Re: Rotation vs Always There

Everything always ready. This probably reflects slackness on my part. However, where I live (coastal Southern California) we don't have sharply demarcated seasons. A little over two weeks ago I was wearing a heavy tweed jacket to walk our dog at night. A week later, the high was 107!

Re: Rotation vs Always There

I tend to put away winter stuff in summer, or at least shove it to one side... More for space concerns than anything else.

And besides seasonal aspects?

At the moment I am a 5 shirt Hildtich & Key man. I have my white shirt weeks. Bengal stripe special promotions. and so on.

I sometimes put ties away only to "rediscover" them a few weeks or months afterwards. Feels as if I just bought them.

Re: Rotation vs Always There

Like B_B I store my Fall & Winter wardrobe in Spring & Summer and vice versa, it helps keep my closet organised and roomy. I don't have my closet colour blocked etc., but I do have shirts and jackets that I reserve for rainy and cloudy days, and others for bright and sunny days. I like to colour coordinate with the weather.

I have forced favorites, mostly because I have so much stuff, I can never find what I want when I want it.

FNB then the BeestonMethodPro might be a good idea. US$ 9.99 over 99 months and a final balloon payment of 99.00$.

Re: Rotation vs Always There

The off-season closet is down the hall.  There is a separate tie rack holding less preferred and less practical ties, but it is merely separate.

Re: Rotation vs Always There

Today I curated by 5 day work week shirts, from my newly ordered batch of 5 Hilditch and Key shirts. All my other DC shirts are under the bed now. Give the H&K shirt room to breathe in the closet.
