''I spose the elevation of Liz has given everyone great hope for the future.''

Do you mean Liz Truss or Queen Elizabeth?

Dunno' just checked it out over there, still seems a place of one way traffic: sports presenters who died, yawn another Kirby Allison piss take, proletariat lager, climate change doom and gloom, ACAB wank stain material and the occasional I'm looking for a gun keeper tweed please help as the mainstream sartorial forums are full of divs, whilst wishing in public certain well known sexual deviant PM posters return to the forum most welcomed having banned them for undisclosed reasons whilst blaming another poster they hounded out as being all his fault, 'nuthin to do with me guv, I'm just one of the moderators, they were actually very much, our kind of people and I welcome them back. Not forgetting the annual postings on which cheap and nasty work boot is best in snowy conditions.

On their uppers I would say, not being natural, being the forum it was meant to be: cranky, wooden, hardly a sartorial forum at all. But I guess you knew that, and you're only taking the piss.

Re: Dressedwell

This is really indicative too from top truth moderator Thruth on Klementine who seems to have last posted several months ago at least, but for Thruth it's the here and now...

''...I have you on ignore so I see nothing that you post...''

And yet, he actually does read what he posts...Not quite truthful there Thruthy-boy.

Pimpernel Smith had him nailed on several fronts and he too gets a mention...in amongst the expletives....

''You are a whiny, c unt-grifter on any social media platform you frequent, not just DW.

It was a toss-up regarding who was the most irritating c unt on DW, you or the late Pimpernel. For the longest time It was Pimps. But since he is gone and you are not, congratulations, you are now the biggest and whiniest c unt left on DW.''

Who has moderators who insist on calling their honourable members expletive ''...grifters'' and other such epithets whilst complaining their woke members have been threatened and shitted their pants over 80s pop-synth videos?

If you want to be an expletive, and my position is that Thruth is a real expletive by his own admission - being an endorsed moderator is the equivalent of being Sister Michael in The Derry Girls.

Am I the only one here who doesn't have a clue what this bloke is on about, and is pleased about that, as it appears to be inane, vulgar nonsense?

Re: Dressedwell

Gents, I'm going over to report from the cesspit of toxic moderation so you don't have to.

Poor Klementine got targeted in a rage of rampant paranoia as the reincarnation of Pimpernel Smith and got suitably cancelled. Even a most casual audit of prose style would conclude they are most definitely not the same person.

As Sartodi Napoli astutely observed, there's more moderators than members now.

And having a much better platform than this legacy one, they've put some effort into alienating, banning and making a genuinely sly, squalid and horrid little platform.

That's the latest update...

Re: Dressedwell

Klementine appears not to have got banned...at least during that spat.

Meanwhile our antipodean in Texas continues his vendetta against they seek him here and seek there, Pimpernel Smith, with oblique references linking his made in Japan, 1937 Vintage Levi's and his Buzz Ricksons collection to the nutter hammer attacker of Paul Pelosi. As ever, he throws in his party line and his oft repeated mantra that most definitely Covid did not leak from the laboratory. Yeah, right.

Dressedwell continues it's inevitable long march into a political/current affairs playpen forum with very little sartorial content of any merit.

It seems the Brit members were a steadying hand there after all.

Re: Dressedwell

At one stage they must have discussed clothes or I would not have posted there.

At some point the owner/moderator turned into a crank.

A few posters still discuss clothes.

''At some point the owner/moderator turned into a crank.''

Correct, aided and abetted by some of his assocates in North America who likely see him as a useful idiot for their propaganda. And one is definitely promoting lies that in his sector is known as a narrative that is not truthful, but is a party-line, to protect the guilty i.e. the origins of Covid, efficacy of the vaccines in younger people and which nations where sponsoring research in China because it was illegal at home.

With the hounding out of the last of the Brits, Dressedwell has completed it's evolution into an echo chamber and non-sartorial forum

A great shame, as the platform is ideal.

Re: Dressedwell

I notice newer posters on clothing get grief. Not the established ones.

Effectively that means those threads don't develop.

The owner comes out with daft statements like 'I honestly haven’t had a good quality sweater of any kind in my life. I have absolutely no need for them.'

Hello. Its supposed to be a clothing forum.

Why suggest posters are idiots on clothing matters as well as woke stuff?

Pretty much stopped checking it out now, but a quick audit reveals the above is true.

Effectively they've created a one-way traffic playpen: ACAB's, January 6th worse than 9/11, close down Twitter, here's me bespoke leather jacket and a therapist couch for the top financially contributing member. Should have kept it a welcoming and diverse platform. Even the watch topic has slowed to a trickle.

A job well down methinks, as it was all intended to be that way: Half a dozen middle aged dudes going around and around, going nowhere at all.

You are missed Kingstonian.

I wish members would talk more about clothes. There is so much i want to talk about, but most of the time l am talking to myself. Who cares about the other stuff, l just want to talk about clothes and shoes.

Re: Dressedwell

The forum seems to have become more of a blog these days. Some users definitely use it as a way to spread their rather interesting world views, even if it's just by posting endless links to reddit.

Re: Dressedwell

As a clothing forum it always seemed to lack direction, no style as such just expensive oligarch bad taste bespoke and what is the most expensive anorak I can drive my tractor in. Good to see the decent posters still milling about in various places.

Streetlight - ‘Good to see the decent posters still milling about in various places.’

I do miss 4F Hepcat, known on DW as Pimpernel Smith (but now seemingly barred from there). He was sometimes controversial to the point of unacceptability but always thought provoking, he thought about stuff.

Re: Dressedwell

Well, a board build on the dislike of Styleforum and joking about Simon Crompton was always going to run its course. If you ban anyone who creates content you'll have to to without it eventually. The posters they refer to as Euros were certainly controversial but at least they took care of the content part. I liked Hepcat better when he posted here as he seemed far more level-headed than the thin-skinned, lacking reading comprehension version we saw on DW.

Not sure he was that controversial, not sartorially anyway. He was a participator and that's what you want.

He might have got wrapped up in grappling with the madness of our times. I certainly do.

''The posters they refer to as Euros were certainly controversial but at least they took care of the content part. I liked Hepcat better when he posted here as he seemed far more level-headed than the thin-skinned, lacking reading comprehension version we saw on DW.''

Well, you can't undo getting sent pedo stuff. That'll make you somewhat thin skinned alright. The so called ''Euros'' were banned and for what appears legitimate reasons, although the Canadian dentist chap has circled back on that blaming Hepcat and saying their presence elevated the forum. Each to his own.

The ''Russian'' sponsor was certainly dissimissive of his proteges as mere ''rent boys''.

There was more to those chaps than a seemingly interest in bespoke tailoring and the Dutch accountant is well spotted. Thank you very much. On the radar, as it were. It was not Hepcat who exposed him, it was a German member who still posts. But the Canadian dentist-moderator forgets that.

''Never knew ole Hepcat was the Pimpernel Smith.''

Like Doctor Who, each regeneration will create a distinct new identity and character.

Re: Dressedwell

"Pedo stuff" is a strong accusation and posting such things would probably mean legal consequences. From what I understand it was just porn and nothing you wouldn't find on Google by disabling the SafeSearch function . It's schoolboy humor so just click delete and be done with it. No need to throw a hissy fit unless you're some politically correct social justice warrior. If this kind of humor isn't your thing, just ignore it.

That's what time-outs were invented for in case things get a little heated. Still a shame they're gone together with guys like Journeyman.

So I take it you're Pimpy?

Indeed. The newer posters on knitwear just get ridiculed for some reason. The mods may get bored and start on you but they would lose huge amounts of content so it's unlikely.

Fwiffo seems to be talking to himself too. He was very good on food and seemed to be an excellent cook. Nobody talking about his other interest football either.

It was neither humour, or ''just porn''. There's a lot more, certainly more than you've been told.

''Still a shame they're gone together...''

They went for other reasons. You haven't been told the full details and with good reason. They'll tell you the party line with the real truth lost in the mists of time. Because it's embarrassing even for them.

''So I take it you're Pimpy?''

I'm whoever you want me to be.

Re: Dressedwell

Pimpy is not Hepcat. Pimpy is a much younger man with a young (30's) family where-as Hepcat is much older (50's).
