She certainly does show good promise. I don't like really athletic adult dancing, though.

I was just watching a MILF going to her van, outside the office. She looks to be a good 45 years old, and strongly resembles Linda Hamilton in her early years.

Needless to say, hot.

Check out this little beauty. l saw it up the street and just couldn't resist taking a photo. l love the old beaten up American style cars with petrol staines down the side. lt is the perfect car. The old cars have LOTS of character. All the new cars look cold on the outside (they all look the same). The problem with old cars is that it is very difficult to get parts. Another problem with old cars is that they are not environmentally friendly.

lf l had my way, i'd get all the old bombs with petrol stains down the side. l love petrol guzzling yank tanks.

Give me an old battered petrol stained 60's yank tank over a Ferrari anyday!

An old aussie FJ 40's Holden sold for over a million the other day. The EK, HG, EH, HK, EK and HG are legendary models.

All the Australian cars after 1974 look like a heap of modern shit. No character to speak of.

The 50's and 60's were a golden era for the US auto industry, there were some great designs coming out of Detroit, I think part of the problem now with the US auto makers is that they have forgot how to innovate, they seem to pander to the market research types.

Too much reliance on University types. Not enough reliance on natural talent. Nothing is classic anymore. Too much try-hard efforts trying to modernise things [too much].

I can't agree. I think that sort of arrogance (prob. too strong a word) is what results in a lot of useless designs. Since designers don't in most cases use the products they design. Maybe Shooey's comment on natural talent is relevant since things should be designed by those who use them.

Nah. They don't have the character of the old 60's- 70's Ford & Holdens.

Here are some classic HG Holdens:

A classic EK Holden:

A legendary EJ Holden 1964: (the best of the lot)!!!

The classic FJ Holden...coisen of the EJ Holden:

The last of the legendary Holdens. The HQ model:

There are about 3 or 4 other amazing Holdens but l can't think of the models right now. Too late at night.

The aussie Holden panelvan is the most legendary `trad' make ever to be made. Panelvans were exclusive to Oz and an icon. Most had curtains on the windows so you could shag your girlfriend in private down the beach. Such a history and very very Trad.

Issigonis could certainly be arrogant. Issigonis was an uncompromising individualist, he was an independent thinker, who despised convention, and would not take advice gladly believing that what he designed was good enough for everybody.

Another quip..."a camel is a horse designed by committee."

I find the above statement to be quite profound and valid in more fields than just design...

Tony, I think that the auto industry is style led and not engineering led like for example aerospace is. People tend to pick a certain brand of car because they like the way it looks. It's a subjective choice not an objective one. How else could you explain the popularity of certain Italian brands. This is a problem Japanese auto makers have, whilst there cars are beautifully put together you could hardly say they're beautifully styled, most look blancmanges on wheels...

Ironcially, camels may look ungainly but are admirably adapted to their environments. I think functionality offers its own sort of beauty. However Issigonis was an example of how genius trumps all the rules.

Anyway Tony, do you drive a Toyota...?

That's a for Japan only model. I just like grand cars, with big grills, long hoods, and a trunk big enough for several dead enemies. Modern computer design technology ought to make them efficient too. Automakers are just lazy buggers most of the time, and in North America we equate size, weight, and loudness with desirability. I like how that Toyota is designed to be utterly silent most of the time. That's real luxury, not brash bling "luxury".

I'm poss. reading too much into all this.
Brother Horace will correct me.

Now that's a Pimpmobile...I also quite like the '66 Oldsmobile Toronado...which was quite innovative from an engineering perspective. On a different  note the Harley Earl designed Corvettes are stunning.

Re: The 'Just Because' Thread

Gotta love Caddy, biggest displacement engine in a regular production car EVER. I remember a night spent driving around rural Canada as a youth, in the back seat of a friend's dad's 1976 Sedan De Ville trying to find a gas station. It was literally wide enough to sit three adults comfortably, no rubbing of shoulders. It had the pillarless windows, which would drop down leaving no middle pillar. Incredible vehicle...his parents were Italian, of course.

Got any pics of even bigger yank tanks? You know, the reely reeely big ones. Huge monsters with huge grills and huge fins on the back....cars as wide as a house. You know the ones i'm talkin' about.

The big huge pick-up trucks are good too. The ones with benchseats driven by big strong men.

Actually, those are all driven by poseurs. People with small penises, and the women who love them. They are also junk (1950s technology with 2000s bodywork). The look cool to foreigners who are used to small cars, but in reality a shitty little Korean economy car is more advanced than most SUVs and pickup trucks from North America.
