Any Japan proxy members?

I have found a rather nice pair of vintage trousers in Japan, and I am getting the Worldshopper proxy banner pop up, but I have heard of people not having the best experience using them, getting charged a storage fee days after the item has arrived and not getting notified, and that's before getting hit for VAT and duty etc.

Has anyone used this service and have any advice, or do we have any members still on here living over in Japan who are willing to proxy items with payment in advance of purchase and shipping?

I had to use them for a purchase I made in Japan- a handmade backpack. I found them totally reliable.

Ah, good to hear Jdemy, what was the Int Postage charges like? When I've bought from Japan before (different service) I had postal options to choose from.

Zenmarket worked well for me when importing Uncle Tory toothpick holders for my bar.

Uncle Tory toothpick holders sounds like an FNB autocorrect, but for what?

PPT yes, I’ve used Zen - in fact too much during lockdown hahaha.
This seller only seems to have the World Shopping banner.

Appreciate all the feedback chaps

Re: Any Japan proxy members?

Well, World Shopping proxy was pretty decent and my purchase arrived efficiently and didn’t get clobbered by HMRC (maybe I was lucky with the Christmas parcel chaos).

Now the proud owner of a pair of dead stock big E Levi’s sateen Flip-tops, just need an inch or so off the leg.
