kc, thanks for the great pics!
Interesting that Sig. Panico prefers unlined jackets; I am sure he makes them beautifully finished. I, however, prefer lined jackets for almost every occasion. Lining protects the jacket from wear and staining from rubbing with, say, your belt, sweat, etc., provides slightly better drape, and there are special linings for Summer jackets that do not compromise breathability at all.

Wonderful pictures many many thanks. Would you believe I am just back from a few days in Naples. Swithered and swithered over a trip to Snr. Panico - decided against damnit. What are you going to do about fittings?

Thanks for those fun clothing pics from Naples.
Its a cleaner look that A&S. im not knocking A&S, its a look some people really like, but I like a cleaner, leaner aestheitc that the Italian eye seems to favor.

Note that they smoke in the Italian stores, adding a certain dash of insouciant style.

Thanks for the favorable feedback. I couldn’t leave Naples without visiting respected artisans. Sig. Panico was a very elegant gentleman who welcomed me into his atelier and facilitated the entire experience.
Cruz Diez: I’ll discuss the lining approach with Sig. Panico during my next visit and provide his response.
il vecchio: I hope to revisit for 2 week during Fall '06. Sig. Panico suggested that my pattern could be perfected within this time; it’s likely the process will receive priority.
Marc, FNB: The coral colored coat did fit well, but it was the 4x2 button coat that really dazzled me.

Thanks for your responses - I forgot to say in my earlier post that I thought the jackets and the coat were sensational and that you looked fabulous in them. I so love Snr. Panico's stuff I think I will book myself in for another trip. He himself looks great in the publicity pictures on his website

This is an amazing effort on you part. It is nice to know someone would take the time to record for others a time when most would be completely lost in the exciting indulgence of treating themselves.

How long have you been in bella Napoli?
Unfortunately I have never been there, just in Roma and Milano - hopefully I will be able to travel there next year! Have you been traveling around - the Amalfi Coast, Capri...

I am interested to hear what you thought the differences were between Panico's work and Rubinaccis. I have always felt that Rubinacci's style was slightly more elegant and a bit softer, while Panico's was a touch more structured and a bit stronger in look. What do you think?

Nice stuff. I love the length of that coral jacket. Not a big fan of larger tie knots normally, I think you pull that one off well.
