Staceyboy, I'm extremely excited to see what you've got coming our way. Its sounds like you've got some tremendous resources lined up. These two are great by the by.

Re: The Ivy League Style: The Boom Years.

Thank you D&F, your encouragement is much appreciated. Now I can see how it works I'll make regular delves into the archives and see what I can find. There's a great Ivy themed Playboy cartoon from '63 I'll retrieve from my desk at work tomorrow which I'll definitely put up in the evening.

"Rooster has woven its silken spell for you". That's tops. The colours are great. It would be nice to see more selection and creativity in the woven silk ties.

That guy in the Leesures's ad really has it nailed.

Compare the tailoring on our man in his Leesures to rather infamous current hearthrob: http://img.timeinc.net/people/i/2006/stylechannel/blog/061106/brad_pitt_300x400.jpg

That Leesure guy is sporting a great look on his face too. Somewhere between a chuckle and sheer contempt! Going to make it my 'look of the day' in work tomorrow. Particularly liked that pic of Burt Lancaster with Kirk Douglas. Thanks for posting that D&F. Spooky, bought a near identical cardigan today to the one that Burt's wearing. Mine is navy cotton with pale blue contrast trim. Good ol' TK Maxx again.

Wow D&F - great sweaters on Burt. Makes me want to see more athletic gear from the era.

That sweatshirt with the curved raglan sleeve and the long cuffs is spot on. That's how I like mine to fit, arm length and all  tongue
The Japanese still make them like that.

Staceyboy - fantastic stuff.

Great thread fellas.

Very cool popped collar on that London Fog windcheater (and great artwork) but that kid! "The Omen" or what? Only slightly less shocking that you could eat at Bewleys in Dublin for 28 cents back in the day.
