Square-ass Pat Boone with a foppy shoulder satchel for his nerdy field goggles draped over the shoulder is a GREAT way to market campus wear to the kids!
What the hell is up with those geriatric looking orthopedic velcro straps over his bucks??
That mean lookin' cat on his tuff little Honda crop duster would beat him up and smash his binoculars!
I would have liked Pat to bump into the Junior Vice Lords (maybe whilst filming a TV special in Chicago). They could have then beat him to a pulp for his version of A-wop-bop-a-loo-bop. And smashed his binocluars.
Boone was the typical clean cut "boy next door" teen idol.
It's a shame what he did to Fats Domino's or Little Richard's songs...
The ad is certainly not cool, but it's an interesting example of Boom Years celebrity advertising.
And yes, these straps on his bucks are awful!
ALO in a Christine Keeler pose:

I think those are McNairy.
Interesting ad. "School entrance requirements are easily met" sounds like aspirational marketing to me.

The use of P Boone suggests they were marketing towards parents buying for their kids, rather than marketing towards the kids themselves. Although perhaps the youth did not consider P Boone to be as repulsive as he blatantly was.
Jerry Lewis did look hip in the sixties,
