Re: Ivy League style for today

This is probably too late for Sancho, but for the record and on the subject of O'Connell's chinos and other trousers: ime it is best to order 1 or 2 inches bigger than typical high street sizes (which of course are 'vanity sizing'). Re. tapering: ime the fit varies, and some I own needed tapering and others were perfect. If you want a Take Ivy no cuff slim fit then all will need tapering - but even for a 40s/50s lover like me, some I have received were just too baggy on the thigh. Others were perfect. Those that needed tapering were an easy fix. (I've not tried their free alterations as I prefer to wash them then decide on whether I need a taper, then get my tailor to do the shortening and cuffs, and taper if necessary.)

Re: Ivy League style for today

I bought some flannels late last year and I actually went for a 38" and then had them taken in all over. The smaller sizes were too tight around the crotch, so I had to go up not one, but two sizes.

This is the problem at the moment - everything's in boys sizes whose balls haven't dropped.

/\ Thankfully the weight loss is going well! Might still have the cuffs hemmed. We'll see.

Re: Ivy League style for today

I go up a size for a better rise in these and then have them taken in. I should be a 30" waist in them but the 31" does the trick.

Front rise is 11" and back rise is 15". Worth a look.
