/\ really nice, haven't bought them yet, I'd like a pair, missing old Brooks Brothers here naturally
I wish there were more good old-school USA-made pajamas around .......
freaks me out to look at the old Brooks Brothers catalogues and know that the stuff that was once so readily available and so integral to civilization is missing in action, maybe lost and gone forever
NOS pajamas are out there but most are grotty permanent-press
Using my vintage Ivy tape measure from "Glen Oaks Slacks, Slacks and Walk Shorts, Sam Snead Slacks, 16 East 34th Street, New York 16, New York, ORegon 9-9020,"
I just measured the rise on three pairs of vintage '70s and early '80s five-pocket USA-made cords, i.e. two pairs of Levi's 519 and a pair of leather-patch/red-label Lee, and each pair had a 12-inch rise.
That's not low, that's perfect for five-pocket cords and jeans. For me. Pure '70s perfection.
Levi's cords, chambray shirt, ring belt, Shetland crewneck or lambswool v-neck sweater, Clarks, Sperry canvas deck shoes, Bean brown duffle ..........
Levi's cords with tweed sport coat all day long, for me, back in the day ..........
one more thing: I like and endorse my O'Connell's end-on-end buttondown shirt a la Woofboxer above and wear it with my tan five-pocket Levi's cords all the time, with mocs or canvas deck sneakers, C-buckle belt .... it's like the '70s never ended .... aaahhhhh .........
RIP JFK, Jr.

The Libertos are 11" front and 14" back rise
The John Simons are 11" front and 15 1/2" back rise
The JS could sit higher if i wanted them too but its uncomfortable with a belt to wear a jeans that high.
Jeans/5 pockets should fit without the need for a belt. I am wearing a belt with the JS for the look only. They look much better with a belt.
Not sure if I mentioned this before but the JS 5pockets can be had at another retailer. These look to be a generic trouser badged up for whoever is offering them:

Thanks gents.
Tommy, I was wearing dark navy Italian made slacks: not a great rise, TBH, and definitely not Ivy, but I like the cut. They're also made of lightweight wool, which was handy given it was pretty close yesterday. The shoes were cordovan AE MacNeils.
And you're spot on - H&J have really nailed the shoulders on the jackets now.
