Loving that outfit Ville, the old acid drop sailor hat throwing a Hopper shaped curve ball right down the middle.

Totally agree with you Stanshall, those t-shirts are cool. I'm quite tempted to try one considering I've never really been into t-shirts with graphics on the front. There's loads to choose from on their website , even their shorts look decent.

Re: Ivy League style for today

Gonna be a right old c-unit and say Tsptr aint my bag as a brand, dont get me wrong Peanuts fan for life. I was brought up on it, Charlie Brown memorabilia all through the house fam, the Guaraldi scores play 24/7, but I once read a press release from Tsptr that nearly had me voming into my own cupped hands. And I thought sorry guys, this is not where I'm at. The acronym itself is the type of shit that fashion forward people come up with that makes me go green around the gills..'Truth, Symmetry, Pleasure, Taste, Recognition.. er you're alright thanks.

From the website....

"TSPTR Collection 6 draws its influences from the American outdoor experience - from Pioneers to Drop Outs to returning GI’s, the wilderness has offered a home to those who don’t fit into mainstream society.
As the Vietnam War progressed during the 1960’s the cultural landscape dramatically changed in the United States, drafted soldiers who left as heroes returned home from their Tour of Duty to a barrage of abuse, portrayed as villians by the national media and civil rights groups.
Many of these young men had been radically changed by their experiences in combat and found it difficult to fit back into society. While the government ignored their plight, they were refused jobs and ostracised. While some joined anti-war groups others chose to drop out and live a simpler life in the wild away from the confines of society.
The United States vast wilderness presented the perfect place to lose yourself, many vets turned to a pioneer lifestyle, living alone or in small groups in self made cabins off grid. They weren’t alone though, communes sprang up all over the US during the late 60s and early 70s as young people decided to opt out and live a more basic and spiritual lifestyle closer to nature.
This collection combines period authenticity with contemporary design in garments that are made in the UK, Japan, the USA and Europe. Vintage washed military cotton and denim and 60s West Coast sportswear classics form the key aesthetic that runs through the collection alongside Schulz’s iconic Peanuts characters and Counter Culture themes."

..... whoever came up with that shit doesn't deserve financial reward in my opinion. I know what they're on about and the points of reference...but still no, I'd wear a Snoopy tshirt all day long. But not from these weasles.

Re: Ivy League style for today

Bop, check this nice little interview with TSPTR creative designer Russ Gater from a year ago: http://www.highsnobiety.com/2015/09/07/russ-gater-tsptr-fall-2015/

I follow Russ on Instagram and I think you guys actually share many of the same interests, from peanuts and vintage n!kes to a serious Beach Boys and Dennis Wilson obsession. It's a crazy mash-up of influences for sure, but to me he seems very sincere about it all.

Re: Ivy League style for today

The Cappo is always good by me, my beef is a brand suggesting its all about being the outsider and then comes up with something as fashion industry as that blub is just a big ole fake in my eyes, a complete contradiction in one sentiment. Even though its all the stuff I like raglan tees, sweats etc.. it just puts the heebie jeebies up me.

Do I expect anyone to care other than me? Of course not, these are my obstacles and mine alone.

Re: Ivy League style for today

Always regretted missing out on the leith tee's, particularly the one in the colours of my beloved Celtic, but had planned to get the set.

Anyways I like what I've seen the last few pages. The Auld Captain, bringing back the guard. Woolsery Snoop'in on us in his Texan Tux (tuck that shirt in young man!).

And Harry as the man in the (I'm guessing) Worstead  Wool Suit!

I never bothered to take any pics of my Holiday, but it was mostly spent in a high necked and half sleeved  60s striped tee (turquoise an charcoal) or white tee's with baggy dockers chinos and the sand in my feet- Greg Da Bull Noll style. Maybe a board shirt or a Cardigan on a coldder day or evening, but I was on the beach every day and on the waves every other.
