Re: Ivy League style for today

I like that style of jacket Leer.

Are there any photos around of it paired with a BD shirt?

Alan Paine Polo / H and J sack / Ralph Lauren flannels (nice high rise) and Sanders squarer toe versions from Oi Polloi (the Mark McNairy ones from a couple of years back which I think are the same shape they're selling now)

Hi - I picked the flannels up on ebay so no idea how old they are I'm afraid.

They're pretty light so they don't drape that well for longwings etc but they work for me with the sanders for a slightly more casual look

Re: Ivy League style for today

Color coordination? We don't need no stinkin' color coordination. Here I am, preparing for an afternoon at the record store and tracking down some good beer. Wish me luck.

Polo rugby shirt, J. Crew 5-pocket cords, Vans Old Skool sneaks.

Side note: After a few years of consistent wear and tear on the old rugger, a hole has finally showed up near one of the cuffs. I might look like actually play the sport. Actually, I did, for about six grueling weeks in college, as a P.E. elective. Nothing like getting beaten up every couple of days. It was actually a lot of fun but it is a very rough game.

Love this look MMM.  Also think Woof's recent Keydge cord jacket and denim shirt rig is terrific. Great work.

Re: Ivy League style for today

Fit looks good overall, Meehawl. My only crit is the shirt. I think you need to lighten things up a little by changing that out for a lighter shirt. And while mixing high and low can work to a certain extent, I feel in this case the jacket is too high, as it were, in terms of style for the low of the polo shirt. In my opinion, you need to change that out with an oxford cloth button down or even a tartan button down of some kind.

Just been doing some catching up and there's been some great looks posted recently.

I can feel summer is just around the corner and I plan to be wearing more or less the same, without the boardshirt.

I like it, Martyn. The way temps around here've been going, though, one might not to get rid of the board shirt too soon.
Frost warnings tonight, what the fuck.

Action shot! Reaching for the eyeglasses. Gotta take a closer look at the Tall and Beautiful Thing.

Shirt's some kinda cheap LL Bean tartan buttondown. The watch is some kinda cheap Timex, the band is some kinda inexpensive J. Crew NATO, the glasses are ancient overpriced Oliver Peoples frames with outdated Rx.

Not showing my bottom portion to youse guys tonight. Some other night. But they're in some old and lovely O'Connell's khaki-colored chinos. On the toes, some forgettable old LL Bean blucher mocs.

Nice! Very nice.

Only thing, and maybe I'm an odd duck, but I'd wear socks with that outfit. The formality of a blazer seems to call for them.

Nude colored socks, perhaps? I dunno. But yes, socks, absolutely. At least if it were me.

Woof, Chip, thank you. I can assure you that I'm wearing socks. I haven't gone off the deep end just yet. They're khaki/tan colored socks. If you look closely you can see the ribbed stitching pattern.
