Agree about the overall length... Bringing up the bottoms will improve the whole look of the trousers, even without anything else being done...
Hi TC,
Best thing to do is go to you alterations guy and have him/her pin them as you stand, like you are, in front of a decent mirror.
How the waist is fitting is detrimental to the break if the trousers are liable to dip they you may find its difficult to keep a clean line on the leg. Don't be tempted to hoick the trousers up when pinning be honest with how they will typically sit. I think the dipiping is just the cut they look like the back rise and front rise are in the correct position on the side view. You can't do much more than that.
Thanks for your comments. I still think the waist needs to be taken in as there is a lot of space at the waist band where the seat seam is. OK at the front so this will only be minor and which will probably be a job for the manufacturer (hopefully only for cost of postage), then I think getting the leg pinned and taken up locally after is the way to go. In future will probably order an unfinished hem.
With a little off the waist and an inch or 2 off the length plus a thinner belt they'll look pretty decent. If they do need to be worn a little higher then take that into account before deciding on the length (so you don't end up in high water territory, so to speak).
Thanks for your comments Yuca. Yes the waist is sitting a touch low without the belt, think this is due to being a little baggy around the back.
My work suits don't have belt loops but keen to pick something thinner than the surcingle one there. If anyone has a good 1" engine-turned buckle let me know!

That's definitely the widest surcingle belt I've ever seen!
It's from John Simons, bit steep and finish isn't great but looks good with chinos. Looking to purchase an Equues one.

Looking well, gents. Can't complain enough about my inability to be able to wear anything more than a T-shirt in this weather.
As for the 'banana effect' on TC's pants, you can remedy it by releasing it in the thigh.
Good to know you're safe Stan. Hopefully all the cool-weather essentials are waiting for you intact back home...
Thanks, not sure if they can be let out much but might ask.
Very nice as always Ox... Love those Wallabees! Who makes the loafers in your last pic?
Thanks! They are the dreaded plastic Weejuns!
Change the socks Ox. You are not a 8 year old girl. Otherwise carry on.
