It appears to be too big and too small at the same time... The sleeves are definitely too long, the but the way the third button is pulled away and the vent is pulled open says it's too small. There's definitely some drape stuff happening with the chest but I don't know enough to speak to that, I'm sure someone does... Beautiful jacket though, well worth the alterations...
Standing up straight and leveling out your shoulders will help too.
Can you try a size smaller? The sleeve length is obvs by the bye, but like BB says lot of stuff happening through the jacket, simplest thing would be going down a size then letting out if need be. To me it looks too broad on your shoulders and too roomy throughout ie a size too big.The length is actually quite nice though.
H&J jackets do come with generous length sleeves. Once they are shortened to length the jacket will look a whole lot better.
Their jackets are quite a boxy cut but that one does look a bit big in the body on you. The main thing with jackets is that they fit across the shoulders, especially natural shoulder jackets which should be pretty snug around the shoulder. Most other things can be sorted fairly easily by letting in or letting out, but altering the width across the shoulders is more complex (i.e. expensive). You will know if it fits you on the shoulders, if you're happy with that aspect get the sleeves sorted then re-assess.
I hope to try a size down, but as noted it is slightly tight on the seat already which is probably made more obvious by the single vent.
Really wanted this to work as the fabric is great.
What size do you normally take TC? Do you usually have these same issues?
Thanks for the feedback. Any further thoughts welcome.
Adding £50 of alterations (if possible to take in / out) also changes the economics of the purchase...
Hah! This is a 42 which I take in suits, overcoats and casual jackets. Just shy of 5'10" in height.
I can live with the vent being pulled slightly by my fat backside, but to me the chest/front being too baggy is the main issue. Shortening sleeve not a problem and something I do on my formal suits. Also noticed the shoulder doesn't seem to be smaller on the 40 in some of the size charts from them.
Can't praise the fabric and details enough but fit is everything.

I agree, fixing those issues will really do a lot for it. Shoulders aren't so bad that it looks terrible, the fact is that for those of us who can't afford to get all their clothes custom made (looking at Oliver, wherever he is) our clothes will never fit like tailored clothing... We just have to try to bring it as in line with our measurements as we can It's a beautiful jacket, best of luck... That Drakes OCBD looks mighty fine as well...
Return it, Treble. Doesn't fit anywhere. It's wearing you.
