Re: Ivy League style for today

The secret reason I post in these kinds of threads is that I can always look back a day or two to find out where my keys or my lighter are.

The InterNet is a boon for us older people.

today: solid pale blue BB button-down, white T-Shirt, grey Lee corduroys, brown Florsheim plain loafers.

yesterday: blue candy striped vintage Ben Shirman (no outside label), off-white Levi's jacket, the same cords and loafers, late at night (sitting outside in the cold) an old green loden coat (80% alpaca, 20% worsted) that I got from my late grandfather...

Clarks desert boots, black/dark red/off-white Burlington argyles, H&M jeans, old black belt, 'cheap & cheerful' BD (from local cash 'n' carry), black merino cardie (C&A), old rain-jacket (thought wearing the Harrington might have been overdoing it)

Ah, nothing like yer grandad's coat, is there.

My grandad's coat (1960s Harris Tweed Crombie) needs its lining repaired and maybe a bit of leather facing around the frayed cuffs before the winter.

Ray Ban look-a-likes - I think I bought them on the front at Brighton a while back. £5, if that.
Blue/White Candy stripe OCBD - Sero: 'The Purist'.
Chinos from Tesco! Flat front, uncuffed 'Cherokee' pale Khaki Khakis.
J. Press Cordo woven belt.
Air hose.
Camp Mocs in 'Cactus' from LL Bean.

School Sports Day today so I shall add an old Navy Brooks Makers 3/2 Sack Blazer to spectate this afternoon - Pub lunch first, obviously. Like I'm going to watch the Egg & Spoon sober... Dream on!

Re: Ivy League style for today

A bit more 'Felix' today:

Khaki Poplin Sack Suit - 3/2, J. Press, '80's.
Blue/White Candy stripe OCBD - Sero. J. Simons.
An Aquascutum Repp tie - More or less a Sandhurst stripe. The stripes are of a slightly different width to the Sandhurst tie tho'.
Mid-Grey Hose - M&S!
Fairmount Cordovan Penny Loafers. Really softening up well.

WTH with the seersucker and bow tie. Before and after work. I don't like loosened long ties but the dangling bow is kinda kool.

Re: Ivy League style for today

I fancied busting the Seersucker jacket today too (The top half of an unwearable Brooks Makers suit) but it's overcast here today. Blazer & Chinos it is then with a Blue Brooks BD. No socks with boats shoes I think & after yesterday's conversations I fancy sporting a striped Surcingle.

I have the Wine, but rather wish I had that dull Breton Red one today for a bit of colour. I'll go with the Guards Stripe instead I think. Can't go wrong with that.

Here it is as a Ribbon:

Leaden July skies here too:

white Dunlop tennis shoes, pale yellow piqué socks, H&M jeans rolled up, black brogued belt, the 'cheap and cheerful' short-sleeved BD again - very bright check in red, white, yellow, blue. Might pass as madras.
Navy lambswool v-neck. Natural-coloured G9. Black brolly.
