I can confirm it is freezing this week. I even layered it was that cold, I never layer!
7c here right now. People still walking about in t-shirts... some with scarves.
Charcoal shetland
plaid shirt - mostly brown and green
chinos
ancient wallabees
cobalt blue sox
Woke up late and threw it on, not very put together.
Nothing wrong with throwing it on.
Blue Makers OCBD with the collars unbuttoned, Johnny-fashion
Scottish made Paul Stuart cashmere v-neck - maroon
Bean jeans
Falke socks - navy/maroon stripe
I don't get that. Why unbutton them? Isn't it all about that roll?

Some just look better unbuttoned: the blue university stripe, for instance. It just looks more relaxed. I think it is more of a European look than anything - although I have seen pictures of Montgomery Clift doing it.
It's like wearing the points over your crew neck instead of under.
Ivy is sometimes not quite what people think. It is a subtle balancing act. It can - possibly should - be 'kicked back'. It is easy to look at what you're wearing and decide it needs jazzing up a bit. Chances are it doesn't. Someone on here once derided the look of a blue Brooks shirt with Bean jeans. But what's wrong with that? The clothing isn't meant to excite anyone. 'Pass unnoticed'. You know. Nothing else really matters.
Even a Brooks collar doesn't invariably roll in quite the way it should. If you wear, say, a Ralph Lauren shirt (which some do, and John Simons sold 'em at Russell Street) it's a waste of time keeping buttoned up. Likewise with BDs in which the feature is simply a bit of unimaginative design (rather than straightforwardly crappy). I don't know much about sprezzatura, it's more a JS thing that says his reverence for Ivy has been tempered over the years. I mean, what doesn't he know? Like wearing Docksides without laces or tasselled loafers without the tassels.
To me, there's also a difference whether it's done with or without a tie. I've done both, but somehow I like it more when a tie is worn.. The Repp looks good on the previous page. Without a tie, I would only do it now if there was a valid reason for it.. like proctecting your neck from burning... There's that picture of Paul Newman on a fishing trip with his bd collar popped... Although I can't think of any possible reason why you should unbutton with a tie... Go figure.
And I really hate the S-word.
Sometimes I do it this way, sometimes that.

You should have added "turned my collar to the cold and damp".
I popped my collar.... I do enjoy a popped collar, for me it is more 1930's than toff or G.
Its from the soundtrack to the Graduate, man, come on.
Christ, I'll get my coat... the amount of times I've listened to that song and never noticed that lyric.

BTW. I like your style in last 2 picks OOBop. If you don't mind me saying so, you look like an Ivy Henchman.
