I do wear ribbed off white socks. They really need to be wool or a wool mix to avoid looking like the terry toweling kind.
I wear with CVO type sneakers in white and off white 5 pockets or sta prest. Ideal with a grey or navy or even off white sweatshirt.
I think this is a really nice athletic look. I'd wear it to and from football or some such activity. I wear a pair of vintage grey Incontinence pants jogging pants (elasticated bottoms) for actually playing sports in winter... but I'd never wear them going to the gym (I never go to the gym).

your shoos look amazing! Sooo lucky. l wore the exact same pair in the local mud filled paddock on Saturday arvo while picking a bunch of weeds for my lunch.
