Can't get them at the British Shop anymore. They were great for cashmere sweaters.I think they are still manufacuturing but as you say the online shop doesn't seem to sell direct. Looks like an over the phone jobbie. I often go upto that area of Scotland with friends who like fishing. If plans are afoot I'll let you now and get you one from their Mill shop.
Thanks! That'll be very nice. Probably not as expensive as over here...

Woolster - Great look. I like every piece of it.WHITE SPORTS SOCKS? Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!
Can't understand French, but those photos confirm white socks as a no no for me. Maybe back in the day they were all the rage, but that was then.
Does anyone on here still wear white socks, unless when doing some form of exercising?
I'd wear them with a tracksuit, but NEVER with jeans etc.
i wear them in the nod, in bed
For casual I mostly wear OTC horizontal ribbed white cotton socks.

Mcqueen from the Claxton book, right?
I've been flicking through this thread, gone through 50 pages, some really interesting Mcqueen comments, observations from you, from years ago. Welcome back.

When I wear socks now I wear white or off white ribbed cotton crew socks. I only wear dark or black socks with dark dress pants and the last time was Christmas. I do see some old guys wearing shorts and black socks and sandals around here.
You wear a track suit?

Well it's a shell suit really, but whose splitting hairs?
Sarcasms aside, there's nothing wrong at all with a track suit if worn on the right occasion, and depending on the style.
Mine's a plain light grey cotton with a zip front. The bottoms aren't elasticated either. Perfectly acceptable when worn to and from the gym. Looks great with white socks too (wink)
I do wear ribbed off white socks. They really need to be wool or a wool mix to avoid looking like the terry toweling kind.
I wear with CVO type sneakers in white and off white 5 pockets or sta prest. Ideal with a grey or navy or even off white sweatshirt.
I think this is a really nice athletic look. I'd wear it to and from football or some such activity. I wear a pair of vintage grey adidas jogging pants (elasticated bottoms) for actually playing sports in winter... but I'd never wear them going to the gym (I never go to the gym).
A nice shot of some white socks here from 'The Panic in Needle Park'. This screenshot I think shows the texture and weight as well as the true colour of the socks. They are heavy, woolen and ecru or off white. Nothing lightweight or cheap sports sock about them.
l love the nails in the heels of his shoos. The biggest highlight on this forum in months.
your shoos look amazing! Sooo lucky. l wore the exact same pair in the local mud filled paddock on Saturday arvo while picking a bunch of weeds for my lunch.

Last night, beat to hell. That effing budget was defeated. Like the hokcey playoffs, this will drag on forever.
Old Brooks 2B sack. Rehabbed Weejuns. Grey Lands End chinos, and a tie from Trimingham's with the golf club/beer stein/card/doghouse motif and a bikini-clad vixen on the inside of the tie.

RL black cashmere jumper (sweater), AZ long sleeve black and blue flannel shirt, 505 jeans by some company called Levi Strauss, Albert Hellweg hand made black leather pistol belt made in 1978 and Colorado brown leather moccasins.

Amazing Weejuns Patrick, simply amazing. You own some of the best looking Weejuns l have ever seen. Wish l owned some of the old Weejuns; l would never want to wear them, but l would love many pairs anyway. As far as l am concerned, the more old fashioned Weejuns, the better! The old Weejuns, not the new stuff because they are not up to snuff and look too ruff and are basically guff and not enough so it would put me in a huff.

The Weejuns come up BIG when you click on that image Patrick - so big in fact that I can do a forensic analysis of your shoes. There are tiny specks of moisture on them - light rain in Connecticut or had you just been for a slash?
^ The former. I wear separate shoes for the bathroom.

Yeah - like every time you go?
No, that would be impractical. Weak bladder, doncha know.

A great look Patrick, one I'm trying to emulate here in Europe with a couple of madras jackets currently on their way to me from The Ivy League Shop. Very American, can it work over here? I shall soon find out.

I'm liking this, nice colours, great looking shirt and shoes. Its the first time I've seen a white T worn under a shirt and thought it adds to the look rather than just looking like an undergarment on show. I think this picture says it all about white V coloured socks, and GBN could have got away with white socks with the Levis. Nice touch.
A nice sunny day so l am wearing my big boy G's.
