Ivy League of Gentlemen:

It's never been quiet in the whole Toscana, without thinking about it I loaded up photos that might give you that impression, but it's misleading wink - first pic's on the historic city wall of Lucca, second on the quite "Belle Epoque" beach of Viareggio, third in "Via Mordini" in the morning (Lucca). And my cam has that function, but I didn't really think about it. You are right, would have been very nice to see all in "vintage" smile

Axelist:

Yep, Rivieras. Nice, but the ones I have are a bit too warm if it's hot... there are even ones with a bunch of holes (I thought I ordered them but I ordered the most "closed" ones), that seem better suited for hot weather. But they feel good and look spot on with shorts.

I am going to make a dedicated "Tuscany" thread when I find the time smile

What sort of music do you play Yuca?

Is that Irish club across the road from St. Maggies bus station still there? I've had a few lively nights in few.

Ironically, I was a dedicated mixologist before I went Latin.  Once I got the Latin bug I ending up hanging up my formerly-beloved 1200s (something I never thought I would do, which just goes to show . . .)

Re: Ivy League style for today

Hey SMQ, those Reyn Spooners are amazing arent they? especially for us who live by the ocean... does yours have the button down collar? They make some of the best Ivy pullovers too... they seem to fly under the radar in eBay, I have five of them and on the look out for more... amazon also sells the new ones at a very steep discount... be careful they are addictive, amazing quality to... the sta-prest look good as they are...

you are right about making them high-waters, they do call a lot of attention in Florida (as I have learned from my personal experience) I would leave the sta prest as they are because they can be hard to replace and get some white 501 and make them into highwaters...

some dirty bucks or navy jack purcels would complete the look

Nice George. The Sta Prest look perfect. If I had some mint big E that fitted that well I'd not have them altered either. Go highwater on a less attractive pair... or at least a pair you can replace if the alteration lady turns them into 3/4 lengths.

I'm really glad you've finally snagged that grail pair, man. Pleased for you.

Re: Ivy League style for today

Senor, the shirt isn't a Reyn Spooner. My fault, I really wasn't clear the way I explained that. The Woolster suggested them and when I looked at them they were pretty expensive and I didn't want to spend that much for a shirt that I thought I was  going to wear just for the wedding. Now that I have this one I like these aloha shirts . This one has a spread collar, I think it looks better than a buttondown with this type of shirt.

Dom, thanks for the suggestion but white bucks are not me. I'll stick with white canvas sneakers or as senor said, blue ones.

Liam,  I forgot, I wanted to ask you,can you tell when the Sta Prest were made ? There's only one tag left on the inside that says "Levis Sta Prest - Never needs ironing" and the little black one on the back pocket with the Big E. When did they stop making these , do you know?
