SMQ, it's always a good look when the temps heat up... and yours looks great
I just got a reyn spooner for $5 dollars in ebay, so deals can be had on theses shirts, I like spread collars on them too, wear em with a white t-shirt for a more ivy feel....
the button down collar pullovers look good when I want to tuck them in...
They're definitely pre 71 from the tag. They stopped making big E tagged Levis in 1971 and Sta Prest were first manufactured in 64. That's about as close as you can get. BUT the care instructions on these early trousers were stamped on the inside pocket. If that's not there and shows no sign of ever having been there they could well be from the earlier batches as these came with no washing instructions other than on the cardboard tag when were first bought. I'm guessing yours could be anywhere between 64 and 71 but chances are from what I've heard they are an earlier pair rather than later.
from about 67' on the more common style was with a bootcut or parallel leg but the tapered style you have were still produced. The bootcut became a straight out western cut (narrower thigh, wider hem and belt loops set further apart so you can wear big ugly cowboy belts with them) in about 70 and these are the 517 model. Avoid these!

would really love to check one of your nights if I'm ever in your part of the world...
sounds like you are really getting deep into the vintage latin scene... lot's of great stuff from about 1960 to the early 80's .... after that I feel there was a significant drop in production quality but the early latin jazz, boogaloo, pachanga, mambo, and salsa is just great.
I'd agree broadly speaking, although I think the 50s was a peak for mambo and Latin jazz, and I also like a bit of son and rumba. Overall Latin music went downhill in the 80s, however innumerable good salsa and mambo tracks have also been recorded since then (fortunately). (Btw I know a DJ in your area: Freddy.)

Mambo in the 50s had all the qualities we're led to believe that rock 'n' roll had, albeit with added effervescence and darkness.
Talking of which, a large amount of 50s and 60s popular music borrowed from Latin rhythms, particularly the cha cha cha (e.g. Louie Louie).
Have you seen Latin Music USA, Yuca? they have quite a big bit about all that.
A few years back when it first appeared online, I need to revisit it.
the first couple of episodes are pretty good, i know it's available on itunes episode by episode.
You can watch it direct from the makers too, which is how I saw it:

This is amazing - an hour long Latin special from a 1972 US soul show:

I haven't seen the fillum - on advice that it wasn't much chop.
But at the time I truly loved reading Mambo Kings Play Songs of Love book and listening to the accompanying compilation album.

All I'm going to say is I've never seen Zach and Russian Spy in the same room.
Like those ties Spy, what is 1600 рублей in £s? Do they ship overseas comrade? Ignore One for Bop, he's old school CCCP.

There are PEOPLE in the background. I guess a copy and paste-job. See the younger guy with one leg? Forgot to copy the second leg. A "moving" car with window opened and no driver at sight? What is going on there? I can't help it, this gives me the chills.
Nice belt.
More disturbed by the couple in matching shorts!
