Re: Ivy League style for today

Ha ha, yeah your right. I thought he'd got some tan coloured socks on and even they were creased to fuck and ill fitting--a la Nora Batty stylee. Now I see its pale fresh and what looks like a crease is just a shoe lace. I see lots of young men walking around dressed like that and often marvel at the freedom of it. Sometimes I wish I didn't give a toss myself and just be able to pick clothes up off the bedroom floor and throw them back on. If I just put them on the floor of course.

Its a kind of fashionista look but without any colour coordination or flair. Fair play I say, I'd just be to embarrassed to walk down the street like it. I'd feel like a sack of shite. Not really Ivy though is it? Even a novice like myself can see that. Or is it?

Re: Ivy League style for today

Ivy or not, doesn't bother me. I'm only saying it isn't pure Ivy style. Not even a negative point on the look. Not making any comments on the look at all actually.

Max can post away. Kudos to him for that. He has his style. It's not pure Ivy. A lot of it doesn't even register at any point on my personal Ivy spectrum but what does that matter? I hope it means nothing to Max. I'd never want to alter the way someone dresses or make them think twice about posting pictures here.

Dominik, you are a lot like Max. You seem to have a style touched with Ivy that remains a current fashionable look. That works for you and you enjoy it. So kudos to you aswell.

All I will say, is I think this thread is a little poorer for the recent lack of orthodox Ivy posts. I miss Heikki especially. And, though his style is far from my own, Patrick.

If we're going to tell it like it is: I was nauseated recently to see the word Britpop used in a positive light.  It was re. style rather than music, although I find its use in either context repulsive.

Right, some of the very pure Ivyists are lacking - I really like their posts, as they are VERY inspiring. Especially 1966 I always liked - and Patrick, yes! Heikki too. I also enjoyed Brownshoe very much.

Did I critizise you some day? Hmmm... Seems you think I'm a dork or whatever. You were right with the price of the Stedman's jacket, though. That I have to admit.

And yes, I started a thread to know how the others liked my posts - isn't that what forums like this are all about?
