I think there is any easy answer to this, as someone formally in Leer's position, of liking clothes and just being interested in Ivy as part of a bigger interest, a lot of my outfits were either ivy-esque, or just a big pile of cac, and shouldn't have been posted on here in the first place.
If Leer continues to post his outfits, (like everyone should be free to do), if he expects to get good reactions, keep in mind it is an Ivy forum, and not many are really going to care for anything that isn't ivy by our clloective standards, which are very broad,
Leer, these people are crack hungry, junkie ivyist, that will swoon at a 6-button BB makers, but might not really care for something new if it doesn't hit all their buttons, and we all pretty much know what the house style is at Ivy Talk, authentic styling, or vintage, the right labels, and the pictures of Steve McQueen wearing it to back up your argument, if someone tells you it's not Ivy.
On top of getting all that right, then it has to be to someone's taste to please, my taste is very different than Yuca's but I'd say we are both relevant to authentic Ivy, by the accepted standards of what that actually is.
In closing, don't go to a rugby match, and expect to talk about football.
"Talk Ivy" is the only rule !

I'd say it's very 'now' Leer something I'd expect on SF street style or something like that. And there is nothing wrong with that, if that's your bag, but speaking as someone that tried to shoe horn stuff in to an Ivy, and a Mod forum, I wouldn't bother, just do that thing somewhere where it could be appreciated, and hang round here to learn more about Ivy, and maybe post when you've got an undoubtedly Ivy outfit, instead of the stuff with a twist. It's up to you i just think whether you thought it would or not, it's a bit selfish to expect a forum to bend to you taste, and also clog up a thread with it to, but I'm sure that wasn't your aim, it's just now you know it will do that...
Aye, that ask andy thread has a cold, tense quality about it, akin to what you find on mod forums. It feels like everybody wants to out-do the last and stand out more; few actually looks comfortable in what they're wearing.
Today I'm wearing a grey, Dickies sweatshirt and a pair of boxers.
There is some really good stuff posted there too.
Leer, what do you mean when you say you the shirt and sweater combo was an accident but worked out better than you thought? Is the sweater a machine wash? At 30 or do you think it'll be ok at 40?
