Thanks for the kind words. And while I'm glad you like these trousers, I have to admit that you guys are bummin' me out on those other trousers. Next time I'll pair them with something a little smarter than that ratty flannel and boots and see if the ole' grandpants don't win ya'll over. Otherwise I guess I'll have to fill the pockets with mothballs and store them away until I'm at least 70.
Although I don't remotely like that, it doesn't require a warning. The modern, dayglo versions do, as they make me nauseous.
Its any solid coloured shirt as long as the colour is in the fair isle pattern. Anything else is a schoolboy error really isn't it?
Make sure you have fiery ginger red hair too, you can't go wrong.
Clearly I disagree with you all. I think the slip and shirt work well
Dayglow?

I understand what dayglow means Yuca, I just can't believe anyone would use such a word to describe my slipover
Each to there own as the world would be dull if we all looked and liked the same
From what I remember of my 88 - 90 acid house years, a knitted tank top would of been too hot - was much more smiley tees, the first wave of used 501s and red or dead shoes! I blame the pills.
What about a dayglow bandana and whistle!! Accceeeeiiiddd!!!!
I wasn't a raver!!! All detroit and Philly - the real deal.
Me neither Tom, although i did dig the whole boys own baleric beats thang for a while.
I always found those smiley t shirt and bandana people highly amusing though.
It's not updated take on it Yuca, they've always been like that. Yes you can sometimes get muted colours, but traditionally you would've had some really bright and lurid colours too.
Doofus.

I wear Day glow everyday at work. Green pants and sweater. We all do, we're a gang.

Yeah but the tie is well too slim for the jacket lapels WM. Its all about proportion.
I'd agree with GW... which I'm starting to make a habit of. Also I think you could do with a slimmer belt with that tie. The tie is interesting though. More Americana than Ivy?
The pants though look much better without desert boots at the bottom of them. I suspect they look a bit baggy in the thigh in your rather upright fit shots, but I'd take a bet and say they would look much more natural in motion or sitting down.
I'll readily admit the tie vs. lapel faux pas, but I slightly remedied it by doing up the top button (not in pic). This jacket has the widest lapels of any I own for sure.
That tie's definitely old, and silk. I guess more "mid century" style than anything else. Not Ivy, no.
As for the belt, none of my belts are really wide per se, so I usually don't concern myself too much with that. But, I do prefer a slimmer belt.
In any event, good points overall.
