Re: Ivy League style for today

Thank you sir! As you have plenty of yourself. It was you who first introduced me to "Talk Ivy". I think that you're an Arnold Palmer/Robert Bruce man yourself, No?

Re: Ivy League style for today

Quite right!  Just bought a lovely gold version of what you might well be wearing today - with the funny little umbrella on each button?

Re: Ivy League style for today

Nice. It's funny but there are no umbrellas on mine. They're more a of a 'Lacoste style' black pearl type (if you know what I mean) I'm guessing that they're original as the spares are still sewn on the inside.

Thanks Chris.

Compared to the 1960s piss-yellow stuff I have at home, that McArthur bloke has a damn nifty tilework thing going on.

Gives me a good idea for my ongoing series 'Heroes of the WAYWT' though... wink

Re: Ivy League style for today

Nicely softened American-made Baggie: university stripe
Ancient Alan Paine cashmere v-neck in metallic grey
Creamy sanforised and mercerised Levis' chinos
Falke socks of a lighter shade of grey than the knitwear
Dexter dirty bucks from John's

Might slip the Burberrys' fly-fronted over my arm.

Dental apointment this a.m.

I thought that perhaps his nose developed into a quantum singularity.  In any event, the suit certainly belies the notion that Brooks' sacks are sacks.

Re: Ivy League style for today

Hello Gentlemen.
After being a long time fan of your combined works, I have decided to take the plunge and throw myself headlong into your your world of style, hedonism and Argyle socks.
My personal style? Well, not exactly what you cats would call Ivy, but our worlds do collide quite a bit.
Right here we go then...
Old RayBan Clubmans
Sideburns (please discuss)
Black roll neck (What else?)
Vintage dark 501's
Black leather square buckled belt
Tootal silver paisley scarf
Old Timex chronograph, black leather strap
Buckle back, black wool flat cap
Black suede Playboy chukkas
Very old, battered American leather jacket
I'm somewhere between a soho jazz club from the late fifties and Warhol's Factory late sixties (In my mind)
And i'm currently diggin' some Jimmy McGriff.
So, there we are. Nice to meet you all...
