Re: Ivy League style for today

Thanks guys. The Mustang is my son in laws, I'm driving the very uncool Cube next to it.

Senor, I just got that jacket off ebay last week - $27 shipped. I might need to shorten the sleeves an inch (ditto the strides) but I wanted to wear it to The Communion. Nice light weight with a subtle blue plaid that you can't see on those pics. The tag inside says " Ivey's University Shop" which I googled and it happens there was one of those stores in my adopted home  town of Daytona Beach, which is pretty cool coincidence. I found this ad from a  1965 newspaper   http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1873&dat=19651222&id=qHwoAAAAIBAJ&sjid=UskEAAAAIBAJ&pg=5573,5077037

"McQueen's message was signaled through subtraction... in a tweed or herringbone jacket and a ribbed swearer he had an electric austerity".

Nice find SMF! Looks really cool. Perfect for formal occasions and yet, so easy and relaxed.

Billax - those trousers are outta sight.  The rise is spot on, IMO

SMF - Looking damn cool my man.  I'd echo your thoughts on shortening the sleeves and the legs a bit, then you'll be right in the sweet spot.

Oliver - Great outfit.  I like the kid's hair and glasses.

Ox - Fine form.  I like your neighbor's house.

Yeah.  I have pretty much zero body fat, and my veins aren't really visible at all.  Only in my forearms, and only sometimes.

Moose and Jaakko, lovely stuff.  I commend your balls for wearing that vest Jaakko.  Not sure I could muster the fortitude for that one.  But I like it.  It would go great with my Navajo motif socks from Mrs. WM. smile
