I'd leave them alone.  Looking good.

Looking good Ollie! I've got a got an early 60's Brooks 346 3-piece in just that cut - but in a dark olive. Tom gave me the heads up a couple of months ago and it's a cracker. Fits like a glove - will put pics up some time............

Re: Ivy League style for today

Thanks Harpo, I'm looking forward to seeing that olive 346! I was quite surprised by the fit myself, you could easily mistake it for a tailor-made front. No alterations necessary at all. The waistcoat was a bit on the tight side after the 16oz strip loin and half-a-dozen martinis I polished off the other night, but otherwise it fits like a shape in a drape and I got myself a clean new Pete Gunn trim yesterday to go along!

Re: Ivy League style for today

That's a great look max, the lined chinos should drape a bit better after a few washes so stick with 'em ( and your alterations guy won't swear at you if you avoid getting them tapered, it's a fiddly job to get them sit right by all accounts).

Ox, 'Trad' vibes and very sharp- you wear it well.

Oliver, the b+w gives you a slightly sinister edge (maybe as 'the cleaner' to WM's hit-man) - it's a champion look.

Thanks - jacket is boring old navy blue, pretty washed out, though. It was from Orvis on sale a while back, Chris_H's tip-off.

Oli, to be honest I can't gather much from those shots.  But I can still tell it looks great.  Haha

Thanks Ox.  You're always so tidy around the neck.

And Colin, that madras looks fine indeed.  That shot's one of the softest compositions I've seen around here lately.

Re: Ivy League style for today

Thanks for all the advice and encouragement re. my chinos, I've resolved to leave them alone (I'm wearing a tighter belt now and they are sitting much better on my hips).

Hips?  No man, not hips... TITS.  They got to be up around your TITS.

Re: Ivy League style for today

You're good at that.  I used to be able to recite the opening from start to end, with remarkably accurate delivery.  I tried it a few nights ago and failed miserably after the first few words.  DERR!

Hehe, that's not a real Serling narrative. I just made that up and my evening wasn't quite as surreal. I made it to the bar and managed to bypass the invisible portal to another dimension. wink

Re: Ivy League style for today

Oh.  Yeah.  I could tell you made it up.  That's why I was saying you did a good job.  Very convincing.

It just reminded me that I once knew the opening narrative, but now I just drool and babble incoherently by the time "THE ZONE" comes on.
