WM - I like the madras with the olive chinos. It creates the "muddy" madras look that I am fond of. Nice to see that vintage is not the only answer as well.

Stanshall - Thanks! I hardly ever take my bag (which has my camera) when I walk by that fountain every day. I always admire the gardens around them and wish I had my camera. Thanks for nice words about the porch, too. It is coming along, but sun Impatiens are not. They are giving me grief instead.

Thanks Ox.  They're actually straight khaki, not the olive ones, but could be the lighting.  The olive aren't a real dark olive anyway.

Cheers Ox, forgot to say there have been some good bits posted, been off radar for the last week or so after coming off my bike and dislocating my shoulder, just sore now, healing well and seem to have near full movement, no push ups for a while mind you.

Re: Ivy League style for today

Sorry to hear about the soft shoulder Tom.  Hope you didn't ruin any good ivy bits.  You're lookin' real sharp up there.  Cap, that jacket doesn't look too golfish.  Perhaps it's because it's on you, and you do your thing with it.  The LE madras is a decent summer shirt by me.

Re: Ivy League style for today

But you don't look like a serious golfer.  LE madras collar ain't great.
