You can also get them blanket lined,  I've a silk with cashmere backing that I choose on day's that I need something smart but very warm.  That said I've got a daks cashmere that's probably my warmest?

Re: Ivy League style for today

Some brands (maybe tootal) have a wool back for protection - I have a very nice Gieves one like that - have a few tootles one is a softer warmer fabric, would need to see the label to know what it is though.

Looking good Turrentine.

Re: Ivy League style for today

cheers fellas.

lots of good stuff on her lately.

oliver - Yes, our coats are indeed very similar, and mine does have the chunky football buttons too.

I seem to have stirred something up on the forum today with the Tootal, totally unintended of course, and never have guessed it would result in such a divergance of opinion. But of course to provoke thought and discussion on such details is after all the point of the forum.

Re: Ivy League style for today

I've just got no experience with a tootal.  Don't know what it is, don't know how to tie it, never even seen one in real life.  Not that it looks bad or out of place with what you're wearing.  It's just a silk scarf right?  But it seems there's a particular way to tie it?

Do people have the same issue with Harley Shetland as they make the CS ones - to date mine have stayed fine.

Arthur Shepherd. Ironically I have never bought from them, but by all accounts they are good sweaters.
