>Kingstonian: Actually the PoW pattern on those trousers is very muted, in a shade of brown/purple visible 'in flesh' only within 2 meters or so, and normally goes unnoticed in photos.
Btw, I think we've met kinda 5 years ago in London at the Shotgun do. Possible? cool

When i saw that unlined cotton jacket years ago at a small shop, it reminded me of those italian/french 50s movies, in wich it was tipically matched by a white shirt and a dark tie..and shades.

Ancora complimenti per il tuo italiano, enjoy your holidays in Umbria, it's lovely in the early summer!

>1966: slack jackets like yours are all the rage this season in Italy, very 'Portofino style'. Cool!!

OK, as a long time lurker, it's about time I introduced myself and thought this was as good as thread as any. From UK and ivy inspired rather than purist, hope to post often but doubt it. Must say this is the most entertaining forum on the net, glad to know you!

Welcome to the fray. I would love to see the S/S seersucker shirt. Sounds pretty interesting.

Re: Ivy League style for today

They can indeed be very lovely, SS.  I had an excellent example (not a BD) by Austin Reed in claret and blue stripes, which I used to wear very often beneath a maroon G9.  Very sad indeed when it eventually wore out.

Re: Ivy League style for today

I would really like to find a few more Short sleeve shirts, seersucker or otherwise, that have more interesting stripes while still retaining subdued colors. I had always hated short sleeve BDs but have become a recent convert.
