Welcome home Oli.  Stan takes offense to that claim however.  smile

That Mercer looks almost identical to an old Makers I have.  And that cardigan is right up my street too.

Re: Ivy League style for today

WM - I will try my best to recall.

Duffle - LE, it is a cheapo, but I like the look and it is warm enough. Probably 3 yrs old.

Shetland - Brooks Brothers from 3 yrs ago or so

OCBD - LE Original Oxford from 5-6 yrs ago. I bought 12 of these when they went down to $10 a piece. I was not wise enough then to know that they were going to permanently shrink the collar. I should have bought 50. I will need a few replacements in the next year.

Cords - LE These were a let down. They got bald spots quickly. Other than that they are great.

Socks - Brooks Brothers outlet. I picked these up about 2 yrs ago. I love them.

Bass Weejun Logans - These are looking rough, but it was raining hard and they are crazy comfortable. I already told myself once that I would not wear them to work again.

Oli - That Mercer is the bee's knees.

Re: Ivy League style for today

Haha thanks pal... I'm actually kind of envious! I could really get used to a laidback lifestyle of swim trunks, bermuda shorts and popovers every day - but not until the fall! You can have Miami in the sweltering summers; the heat and humidity even in April was pushing the limits for me... but I sure do miss the sand and surf, sunrises on the balcony, the fresh daily line catch and casual dockside dining, and schmoozin' & boozin' with one of the genuinely nicest and heppest, likeminded cats around - none other than Stanshall!

Great popovers, Ollie. Particularly the blue. Shall have to invest.

I've always like the full-cut oxford, well-worn madras shorts and CVOs look. Looks great with the hat - very good.

Don't get that much chance to wear it in London, sadly.

Yeah.  See, that's where Thee Captain Road and Worried Man Lane intersect.  I'd love to own and wear that Chippewa.

And Oli, as Stan says, a great display of trop clime Ivy.

Re: Ivy League style for today

hahahaha.

Good look Woof.  I'm really happy that I can appreciate seeing someone dressed like that and not feel that they've fallen short or that there's just all of this uncharted sartorial territory that they're not exploring.  No frills, clean, nothing dandy, classic, functional... "it" in a nutshell.

Goes for you too, Patrick.
