Thanks WM, Chief, and Harry. There is a bonus feature in the pic too. If you look at the throw pillow to the right of me it has been fashioned out of an old Shetland with other side being a narrow wale tan cord. My mom made it. I brought it out from inside. I need to get some summer outdoor pillow.
WM - Love that poplin suit. It is not as shouldery as I expected.
WM, what's the story behind the cool poplin suit?
The burger sounds as delicious as that outfit looks, Chief. What's the rundown on the trousers?
^Some outstanding looks up there, most appropriate for these blue sky days!
I would drive that, no joke.
So what's lending the '80s vibe? The shoulder?
Some great stuff going on here as of late guys.
Good stuff!

/\ those circa 1981 shots of the NYC preppies in their cotton summer suits and one dude in his poplin mismatch that were on the Heavy Tweed Jacket site ... were thrilling ....
to appreciate this suit you really need to see it trucking around a downtown office building courthouse scene in high summer in blinding sunlight ....
there are months when even tropical wool, which can feel cooler than cotton in the air-conditioning, but which has microscopic barbs that get you itchy in the heat, is not right, for me anyway
the cotton poplin doesn't breathe as well as the tropical wool but is more comfortable on your skin ....
the somber colors that are perfect for gray stone buildings and cloudy Northern skies don't cut it in the South in the summer, they absorb the rays and get hotter than the reflective lighter khaki colors ....
but anyway you'd be carrying your coat while you were walking to lunch, going out for Cuban coffee, walking to another building for a deposition, etc.
when it's hot and sunny enough for that shade of pale khaki suit the white shirt is really your friend .....
too hot for a t-shirt under your shirt ... the blue shirt will show all the sweat ....
summer rainy days are better for tropical wools, they will repel water a bit and will dry faster than an all-cotton suit
