Another shoe thread: Norwegians and all that jazzzz.......

All sorts of loafers, brogues, plain blutchers, bucks and saddle shoes, boat shoes, canvas deck shoes, tennis sneakers, English shoes... classics...they all have been mentioned here and will be mentioned again, and for some reason!!! This thread is about the odd choices made...

I'd like to know a bit more about Norwegians for a start... Not weejuns (although I think there is a connection, that I would like to know about)...

I am talking about the lace up shoe with this seam around the top...

What about the Paraboot? The French shoes sold by J.Simon...

What about Basketweave Norwegians? They must have been quite popular back in the days in the UK...

And what is a split-toe Gibson? I know Gibsons as similar to the Blucher or Derby style... open lacing as opposed to enclosed like the Oxfords and whole cuts or most British Brogues and formal shoes... I don't know much about Gibsons, though I have seen two -tone Gibsons, so I have a vague idea...
