as a sidenote FU is also short for Freie Universität, a university in Berlin... All the American exchange students loved those sweatshirts "FU Berlin"!

Re: Ivy Icon: Jack Lemmon

I always thought he represented the put-upon, stressed out New Yorker.

Life in London seemed pretty relaxed compared to what we saw in his films.

I am not sure there is much difference now.

Style wise, he always seemed to have his hat.

Dinah Shore & Jack Lemmon

This is from a late 1962 episode of the "Dinah Shore Show." Jack Lemmon plays a mean jazz piano as he accompanies Dinah on "They Can't Take That Away From Me" and then joins her for "Cheek to Cheek."

Re: Ivy Icon: Jack Lemmon

Jack was one cool guy but I think Walter's got a good going here too. Those casual shoes are particularly fun.

EDIT
On re-examination, that break is absurd. Walter might as well have double-cuffed 'em.
