Re: Recent Old Ivy Finds

I thought I once warned you about the shorter collar on that version of the "makers" shirt?

I'm with the others in believing you should just keep it and get at least a little use out of it.  Perhaps you need a rag for cleaning off the oil dipstick on the car?  Keep it in the loo in case you run out of TP?  Cut it into hanky squares?

Re: Recent Old Ivy Finds

I have already invested time, money and emotions on this shirt *i had to pay the custom charge con)
and i am starting to dislike the bastard immensely. It doesn't deserve to be anywhere near the rest of my "Boys".

I wouldn't even wear it under a wet suit let alone a Shetland, its going to go tomorrow.
I might even toss it on the BBQ in a minute and send it to Valhalla!

I am starting to lose my temper with it and i am sure its talking about me behind my back!

Re: Recent Old Ivy Finds

Its a really sexy find and its also a good time to buy from the US as the pound is very strong against the dollar.
No surprise as the US stock market went into a slight meltdown yesterday.

Not so long ago $23 was around £15, its now £13.66

£1 = US $ 1.6834

Lovely AC - had my eye on a pair of brown dexters NOS too for months wish I had snapped them up but realised the better thing to do would be take all my other loafers to the cobbler and repair the worn heals! still got 2 pairs to do.

Re: Recent Old Ivy Finds

Tom you are definitely the exception here ie doing something sensible with your wardrobe.
I use a relegation system and a pair of Burgundy loafers will now become "Beaters" to make room for these.
I will exercise some logic though and give them a rubber topper on the sole.

Re: Recent Old Ivy Finds

I'm guessing '70s or '80s.  Look inside the inner right pocket (probably, may be elsewhere) for a Union tag.  Get a pic of that and we can really get somewhere.

Re: Recent Old Ivy Finds

You'd be surprised what turns up in the non-vintage sections of eBay; I could've spent all Saturday posting finds in the eBay thread!

Re: Recent Old Ivy Finds

Weird... isn't that the same company that produces the Italian liqueur? Looks like the same vintage label I've seen in old advertising. Very nice find though!
