Re: Recent Old Ivy Finds

Perhaps he's an expat now residing in LA?  I can't imagine a US native would have that much JS stuff for sale on ebay.  At least not without knowing about Talk Ivy.

Re: Recent Old Ivy Finds

Thanks fellas, it wasn't exactly a bargain but not bad considering it's basically NOS. Much less than I'd have paid for something off the racks. I've been searching eBay every damn day for three years for one of these buffer shawls. When this popped up a few days ago, I knew I couldn't let it go. There's another interesting Invertere listed right now in a glenplaid tweed (I think) but the collars completely moth eaten, sadly. I'm starting to dig the neutral palette a lot more than I did at first when I had an earthy/autumnal colored corduroy in mind. It kind of personifies the look, don't you think? Very excited to receive this and it's the perfect coat to bring to Japan as I needed something shorter and lightweight. Perfect timing!

And this one is obviously masculine, unlike those women's coats you were so fond of.  What exactly is the collar?  A woolen pile of sorts?

Re: Recent Old Ivy Finds

har har har

I can't help it if I'm attracted to women's coats.

The collar and lining is 100% wool. Someone must have been watching that last auction keenly because this conveniently just popped up in a 44: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Invertere-of-Newton-Abbot-Buffercoat-Vintage-excellent-Mens-44-Regular-/131287634907?

See, that's what I'm getting at.  Probably won't get worn until next year though.
