Re: Recent Old Ivy Finds

Well, the price was right.  If it fits decently, those are pretty easy repairs, with the possible exception of that rip near the pocket.  But even that won't be seen when you're wearing the jacket.  It could probably be repaired so it's nearly imperceptible.  It could turn out to be a good purchase.

Re: Recent Old Ivy Finds

get the tears repaired and you should be in business ... the San Francisco on the label guarantees that it's at least 30 years old I think ....

Actually Press used those labels well after the SF shop closed; likely until they ran through all back stock rather than eating the cost of printing new labels. I've seen them on articles that dated up to a couple of years afterwards.

I was wondering about that.  I figured it was a typo, but I was afraid you were dropping new internet abbreviation lingo to which I wasn't hip.

Re: Recent Old Ivy Finds

I missed the L+H post, haha. Well played!

I scored a killer diller 1950's McGeorge "Big Beat" olive green brushed Shetland cardigan with brown leather football buttons in minty deadstock on the bay last night for $20.

I've got a Big Beat cardigan too.  They're a fine specimen.
