Had that one in my watch list. Was hoping that nobody would go for it and that the seller would relist it at a lower price. It's very cool indeed.
The BIN was stupid but I laid low and had it sniped... it's advertised as "deadstock" for whatever that's worth; not a bad deal for $49 total. I applied a $13 eBay coupon so I paid even less. It looks like there was one other bidder that tried to sneak in at the last minute.
I've never seen a hopsack weave like that on cotton button down before. It's got a back collar button, side gussets and from the measurements it reads like a nice billowy full cut shirt. Only thing that would've made it any cooler would be a more versatile color (blue-grey-chambray-etc) and a bit of collar roll.

You lucky dog, Oliver; that's quite a find.
Why do vintage sport coats always have such plain and ugly cheap looking buttons? Does anyone have a good online source for nice horn buttons? I've been thinking for a while that I want to replace the buttons on 90% of my vintage jackets and I think with this recent haul, the time has finally come.
Oli,
You might try Britex down by Union Square or Satin Moon out on Clement/Arguello.
Thanks man, I was just at Britex last week. I'll give SM a shot; never heard of it before.
I like the cheap plain buttons.
Plastic was sexy once! I really like this post on plastic buttons on Bonds suits.

I've got no problem with plastic buttons, it's cheap solid black plastic buttons that I dislike.
Lovely stripe on that yellow shirt T.
...just wondering, how did you manage to get those shirts without Oliver beating you to them?
a non-Oliver location, you gotta thank your lucky stars they are still out there.
£5 each so couldn't look a gift horse in the mouth - washed and now drying on the rack.
Nice score Tom.
Collar is 3.5" and the sleeve (longest edge) 10.5" the Holbrook is slightly wider on the arm but the softness of the cotton allows it to sit well.
Did a search for others on the usual outlets but nothing came up with that label. Very much your bag I should think Yuca.
The yellow mixed fibre is an everyday summer work shirt, been trying to avoid mixes but for £5 it seemed churlish to turn it down.
Nice price! A wide sleeve is good.
Can't find much on the brand - this could well be the same maker with another style label.

and there are a few press ads from early 70s with Holbrook mentioned.
