Just saw the above item in charcoal and navy at the RL department in a store here in town, whilst being ridiculously overpriced at € 895.00 I couldn't help but notice the elegance and versatility of the item. Anybody know of a cheaper yet equally elegant version ? TIA,
Alex

^900 EUR for a cardigan, wow.

The links look very promising. The cardigans at the bottom link are ridiculously cheap, but probably no sizes left.

I have an RL cardigan that is similar to that but not cashmere, just a chunky cotton knit. with the shawl collar and side pockets. cost about $200 a few years ago
but I see items like that pretty often in mid tier shops like Banana Republic, usually selling for $100 or so in cotton knit
Actually I'd seen a woolen cardy from the Cold Method S/S range ( type was called "Starsky" though ), but my size was gone in camel pre-season already. The item was a bit longish and not high buttoning, so I thought the RL type was more stylish after all. Seek and one will find...

Don't know if this fits your elegance criteria but certainly more reasonably priced.

I have 2 cardigans of this type - one a cashmere blend RL that I got on sale and one cotton one by Duffer of St. George that came with a free scarf. Both nice. BTW the (excellent) Baracuta chinos have been further discounted.

I'd love a cardigan like this. Hancock wears something similar in one of the TV episodes. 'Fraid £325 is a touch steep for me Alex... If only I had a Granny to knit me one...
Orvis ur sometimes a good source - but a bit oan the pricey side n'aw.
