Easier Way To Load Forum Photos

http://www.filmnoirbuff.com/forum/uploadimg.php

You won't be able to remove them but it might be simpler than dealing with your photo-site. Let me know how you like this feature.

If you have multiple photos to upload, you might want to open an MS word document in order to temporarily paste each photo link because the feature only displays one at a time. Specifically, after you upload one photo and go to upload another, the first one will be extremely difficult to oocate which means you will want to store the links as you go on a clipboard of some sort. I am currently looking into where they are all stored.

A bump for this as I've had a few PM enquiries lately. It's quite simple.

Re: Easier Way To Load Forum Photos

When using this image upload option on my phone it keeps saying the image already exists and cannot be replaced? Any ideas how to remedy this?

Don't think you can change the image name on a phone? Or am I missing a trick.

Re: Easier Way To Load Forum Photos

I wouldn't know about phones I'm afraid, but I do know that on FNB one image per title is how things work... And I only know that because I used to just call all my pics 'pic' and soon discovered that the forum couldn't deal with that.

Re: Easier Way To Load Forum Photos

Its like all the images are in a big filing cabinet in FNBs home attic or something and which the url/ file path - points to a certain drawer/ then a folder (numbered - mine is 1550 iirc), which is yours,  in that draw/ then a pic in that folder and pulls it out for display on screen at the viewers end. In effect your browser allows you to look in the big filing cabinet in FNBs attic. Look in the drawer that holds your folder and then find a certain pic.

For that to happen each pic OF YOURS needs a unique name to identify it. It could have the same name as one of Jims (eg kosherbooze1) from what I can gather and it would be ok as its in YOUR folder. I'm guessing your phone numbers pictures based on what it already has in its own storage and hence it might be the same as a pic already uploaded if you clean out your phone regualrly. It will only need one digit or letter changed.

Re: Easier Way To Load Forum Photos

I have thousands of pics on my phone, many are kept as a work ref, ones that are temporary get deleted, but I am unable to alter the number/name of the image on my Pear Shaped so guess, I only use this meathod when not logging in no my laptop, problem was that I had the week off and forgot my password so couldn't log in at home!

Cheers chaps

Hi Moderators,

Is there really no way to upload pictures from your phone?

Thank you.

I don't believe so Chief.  The pics uploaded to the site uploader must have unique names.  I've tried before and failed miserably.  I don't see any way it can be done, at least not on my phone.

I do wish more of our community would take advantage of this service. Besides the annoyance of so many expired links, it's frustrating to scroll through tons of oversized images when they could just as easily have been hosted here (which then allows a small-sized preview of the image instead of an 800x1200 monstrosity).

Re: Easier Way To Load Forum Photos

I just noticed Imageshack has stopped hosting free account images. I've been using Photobucket for a while now, but all the links from the older threads are now dead. I'm pretty bummed out about the Leroi Jones thread and a few others... Good news is, there's still time to save your images, although I doubt I'll have the energy or time to upload them again.

Free account holders will still be able to access their ImageShack accounts, and be able to download their images for a period of 3 months. You will be able to upgrade to a premium account at any point during that time to enable image delivery outside pages. If you chose not to upgrade, your account access will be discontinued by the end of January 31st, 2016, and your ImageShack account will be considered abandoned.

Help! I'm suddenly unable to use this feature, which has worked perfectly well for me before. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks!

I get "408 request time-out", or "bad request"...I've just managed to upload one photo, but still having no joy with the others! I'm baffled!

I think its a problem with the site at the moment.

A 408 time out error means that the request is taking longer than the server will allow you .

Is it me or is it taking ages to get on the site or do anything.

Why is this coming up?

ERROR: Wrong filetype (has to be a .JPEG, .PNG or .GIF). Yours is: application/octet-stream

Guys get photobucket. Select your picture, then click on share. Tap and hold the link to copy, then paste it here.
This was done from my Phone.

Still doing it and I'm trying to upload a JPG, never had this before with the same phone as well.

Harry I've got photobucket, but prefered using this method.
