You may want to wash it again to make sure all of the dye residue is removed.  The coat may become more navy, and yo want to make sure you don't get any crocking onto your other garments, furniture, etc.

Turned out quite nice after all (and is now a nice deep navy that you wouldn't take for black).
Definitely a fun jacket and not one you would wear wear a tie with. In the sporty spirit of the navy blazer at any rate.

I'm happy.
